Wonder if Arkansas thinks we played dirty

Our secondary was headhunting today. Laying the lumber. De-cleating people. The last time we played like this on a regular basis, the rest of the SEC bitched about what a dirty team we were. Besides giving up a couple big plays I thought the secondary did pretty well. I don't blame them much for Arkansas making a comeback - I chalk that up to Coach Cheese playing prevent.

Arkansas WR were smack talking early. After enough trips to the sideline to count fingers, I think they STFU.

And how about Washington. Washington made a monster play on Arkansas reverse play that looked like it was going to be a long gainer for a touchdown. He was the only defender on that side of the field. I was thinking "come on, kid, contain and turn the runner back toward the middle were maybe some pursuit will catch him". Washington fought off his block, prevented the runner from getting outside to the sideline, and then stripped the football. Helluva play.

We've got some big hitters back there. Glanton and Fitz are two of my favorite bulldogs in a while.

What a bunch of pussies.

Who said that? when and what year? I don't remember who was bitching about us playing aggressive and with fire.

I've said all along, Crxxm needs to grow a pair and encourage us to be alot more physical and aggressive. Thats one thing Sherrill encouraged was to have some swagger about us. I miss those intimidating defensives we had back in the mid to late '90s under Sherrill and JL Dunn.

Sherrill era defense. Aggressiveness. The "don't try to foul, but if it happens, it happens" attitude about being physical.

Arkansas' sideline reporter, Quinn Grovey, when analyzing the Bulldogs, said we DID play physical and "dirty" in years past. Now we are more of a finesse team.

It is/was a myth. Nevermind facts, Crxxm will always be the good guy doing it the right way. Sherrill will always be the cheater who played dirty. Fact of the matter is, Arkansas' media and fans, have no real idea. It is such a insular state with the university some 6 hours away from it's closest SEC rival.

Joe Lee Dunn Defense as well. Looked like we were sending someone just about every play. They were just left to guess who it was that was going to be in their QB's face -- or laying on top of him after the play.

I am sure C34 is going to disagree, but Harbinson is not a bad DC. We have played well all year, and the fact that we lost one of our better LB's in Channey, his back up in Hughes, one of our better DT in Wesly, lost depth with Prince, our best Cover corner in AJ, all of this and have been very solid on D this year. I like Ellis, but I really felt like our coaching and adjustments week to week were better this year. David Turner may be the best postion coach we have on staff.

...the type of secondary the Saints had in the 90's -- a hit parade. "Look both ways before crossing the secondary."

They'll let the receiver make the catch, but they'll lay the lumber for coming into the the "no fly zone."
