sure he's ready to start the first game of the SEC tourney.........For the most part, he's pitched against inferior opponents in mid week games and has had some nice outings in some of those contests.......With Stankek going, whoever we throw out there will have to pitch well becausehe will be tough.....If you look at Brandon's stats against SEC competition, it's not good (11.81 ERA).

Against Ole Miss. I thought he did pretty well until our defense let him down. I think we are expecting to get 4-5 out of him.

Staneck has had to come out early his last two starts because of back spasms.

Everybody else is in pretty much out position, where they have to get through one day, then throw their ace. Stanek got taken out early due to getting hit by a line drive or some ****.

It also goes to show that the SEC tournament is now a big pile of ****.

maybe Arkansas has a primarily right handed lineup? Either way, I'm sure Pollo and Bracewell will be the first guys up in the pen during this game. Remember, we trotted Brooks Dunn out there in 2005 and beat Mark Hollimon.

If Bianco starts Head, we lose.

I knew we had won the game once he trotted Holliman out there. Tired arm = ball up in the zone = ball gets ripped. That's pretty much what happened.

He only pitched 1.2 innings this year in SEC play. If he gives up a run, it's going to blow his ERA up.

Is a dude with less than 2 innings pitched in SEC play really our 4th best option? Id rather see any of the other options out there, especially Pollo. Hell, id rather see Routt get the nod - at least he's a known quantity. By the time we know enough to pull the plug, we may be in a hole too deep for our bats to recover from. Maybe Cohen is just making down Ark a loss and saving Pollo for ole miss.

This tournament doesn't really matter anyway. We're pretty much locked into a #2 seed no matter what we do. But we need to have 5 starting pitchers ready for the regional. Not necessarily a bad idea to put Woodruff out there against Arkansas as a tryout for the #4 or #5 starting job in the regional.

don't have much SEC starting experience. I have a lot of faith in Woodruff- he can be dominating at times, and he was a fifth round pick out of high school.

Plus, I think he will be a weekend guy next year, so he can use this as something to build on next year.

I do think Routt would be a good option as well. I do think Cohen is saving Pollo for Ole Miss should we face them. Or Stratton.

This tournament is meaningless to us (almost). If we can get a quality outing out of Woodruff and beat Arkansas, we will have accomplished two things: (1) preserving the rotation and rest schedule for the regional and (2) be in a very good position to win the SECT because we can come back with Stratton, Graveman, E. and R. Mitchell, Lindgren, Pollo, Routt etc. If we happen to win, I think we make a very compelling argument to host. If we lose to Arkansas, we have still preserved the rotation and rest schedule for the regional and will, in all likelihood, still be a #2 seed somewhere.

you don't want to throw/move your SEC starters up 2 days because of the draw in an SECT, in all reality we have no shot to win this tourney and if we did, would it be better than advancing from a NCAAT regional. With that being i feel torn about this and wonder what you guys think. If OM is to win game 1, that would put Ark or MSU in place to earn a bye and skip LSU early, does your strategy change mid game after Woodruff pitches if OM wins. Or do you just play the best game regardless and worry about tomorrow at 3pm today

I lean toward knowing whether or not OM wins/loses, then I would throw my better relievers at the end if the game is close of course.

As long as you're ahead, tied, or close, you use who you have to use to win the game. If it gets out of hand, then you start saving your better relievers. And I think that's what Cohen is going to do.
