but now it is just up to him. Their rivals site is reporting that more schools have "come calling" but that om seems to be his top choice.

Just listened to Finebaum and Ron Higgins said he was sure the rebs would take him and it is a bad precedent but Nutt and Boone are trying to figure out how to spin it. Higgins also said he would write a scathing article if he is admitted but nobody from UM would care if he gets them one or two more wins.

And, similarly to our MBA program, I thinkhe can take one semester of classes "unclassified", that is, without official acceptance into the program.

if we wanted him? He's got to be admitted to grad school and Idoubt that eitheruniversity'sgradschooldean would wantto take the hit. Academic types don't like their reputations being questioned and they don't want tobe ridiculed at professional conferences..

So yeah, I'm somewhat surprised that Jones wouldok it.

half-assedly TA'ing classes, only going to things if there's free food involved, nodding off during departmental seminars, trying to get a thesis committee together, totally "getting" PhD comics. That kind of stuff.

Not one bit, but I can't say I blame them. They're extremely thin at QB, and heimmediately turns a minus to a plus, especially if he can pick up the playbook ASAP. I personally wouldn't mind seeing him playing for us, but I think Relf should be more thanserviceable.

that got eligible through "the plan" which turned out to be BYU online courses, etc. etc. At some point they are going to get someone's attention, you would think. They are starting to be blatant with their activities.</p>

If not, I'm guessing that every school he covers would take the same opportunity for "one or two more wins."

College football has been as amoral as most other forms of big business for at least the past two decades. It makes me laugh that Higgins is about to pretend not to know that.

graduated with a bachelor'sdegree from Oregon. His eligibility depends solely upon entrance to graduate school. In this regard,he is awaiting his score on the graduate school entrance exam he recently took.

if he thought that player would help his team win now, but I'd hope graduate school deans would consider allowing a student more circumspectly. Masoli might be extremely qualified and deserving...I don't know.

And not just about this. He sucks at life. I expect media backlash, because they like to pretend football is all about the "student athlete" when everyone knows better. Guys like him will have material for his self-righteous perch, and that's fine with me. They can write what we want, but the bottom line is we need another QB, and we just might get one.

Finebaum, I don't even care. I know that whatever he says is solely aimed at riling up the masses. I don't even believe he has a real opinion of his own. He's just an entertainer and a puppet master.

Higgins has a hard on for taking shots at Ole Miss. I'm not a newspaper conspiracy theorist or anything like that, but Higgins always takes the negative Ole Miss slant and seems to enjoy it. He's one of the few people that makes me celebrate the fact that the newspaper business is going to hell.

It is not a good situation to bring in a kid for one year that expects to play from day one. I think that the only reason that you bring this kid in is if you have no other options. He will not come to aschool to earn his spot. He will have one month to gain the respect not only the coaches but more importantly his teammates. In no way am I saying that the kid cannot play. He would be awesome in our offense. I just think that he could provide more downside than upside.

You can take up to nine hours before you have to be admitted into a grad program. I think that nine hours is full time in grad school so he should be in. Just want to know if frat boys are going to do some wind sprints to chase a thief or are they going to get dad tojust buy them a new laptop?</p>

so I am sure if State wanted him, he would have come.

And I still wish we would have taken him even if he sat on the bench. The guy is a talent.

that is well connected to our program and he said Masoli contacted Mullen in the spring about transferring and that after conversations with Chip Kelly the decision was made not to pursue Masoli based on unpublished issues that he would not go into. This source is about a good as it gets but go ahead and wear my *** out anyway.

I assume its ****.

For example:

I have it from a good source, that is well connected within the department that Ellison Lawrence is donating 2 billion to the athletic department strictly for cleats for the next 1,000 years.

..."helping someone make a decision for him"? For all we know, Kelly got word of Masoli wanting to leave and decided to excise the cancer from the team before it came to Tommy Kelly-esque proportions.

The source is credible because it favors State, slams Ole Miss, and it's on the internet so it must be true.

one, I can tell you that Masoli has been shopping for a while and I can also tell you we passed on him and there are many other programs that have passed on him as well according to "deep throat".

But that doesn't make your statement any less accurate.<div>
</div><div>Powe originally used online courses straight out of high school and was not allowed in, he then went to hargrave where he was ruled ineligible but admitted into Ole Miss on a probationary basis where he had to complete 24 hours with a GPA over 2.5 before being allowed onto the football team.<div>
</div><div>Barksdale went to Hargrave and gained eligibility.</div><div>
</div><div>Masoli graduated from Oregon and if he does come to OM he will enter into the souther studies program offered by our graduate school.</div><div>
</div><div>"The Plan" which is the Cellular South Program has significantly increased student athlete eligibility throughout the state of Mississippi. Helping all programs not just Ole Miss.</div></div>
