that he has been doing fantastic the past few practices. Even hearing he is emerging as a pretty vocal leader. Listened to "This is Our Show" and HD6 had some of the same things I've heard as talking points. Sounds like he gave Jake Thomas a beating a few times.

Lets hope it stays this way. Anyone hearing the same things? Anything different?

He was on the 4th string his first day, 3rd string his second day, and 2nd string his third day. Pretty good if you ask me.

I stole that from Paul Jones BTW.

If you're vocal as a freshman you must have a lot of confidence

In his high school interviews he comes across as a man of few words, so this is an interesting development.

Glad he has been blowing up our future o-line. Good to have some Lsu, bama simulation at practice.

He's just shy in front of a camera... He's got a ton of swag when he steps between the lines...

19:00 mark here...

Whats interesting is he looks like he's gained 30 pounds since that game. Due to that, I am not sure any of us have a real sense of what style, type, and kind of player he will be. No doubt he is a beast, but is he Clowney, Fletcher Cox, or Reggie White? I have no clue due to weight gain

"The true freaks don't have comparisons -- they are the comparison"

He's actually gained 40-50 lbs(list weight) since that game I believe -- and is an inch and a half taller than he was advertised to be at that point...but I haven't seen a single firsthand account yet that seemed to think he had lost a step...

Seems to me he's the prototype blue chip defensive end that we all thought he was -- just carrying extra weight more quickly than we thought he would. I don't believe anyone would call him fat right now by any means. Basically a bunch of people thought he'd be a Julius Peppers clone who plays at 6'7 287 @ 4.68)...and that's still the best comparison out there IMO. However, if he keeps gaining weight(which he may) and doesn't lose a step, he will be without peer in the measurables category...

This is actually an underrated point. it can only help our o-line to have to block a guy better than what Alabama or LSU have. Thats right, I said it, I think he may be more talented than what Bama and LSU have.

And to add to your point, I've watched the MS-AL all-star game or kept up with it since it started and I don't ever remember a player looking like a man against boys as Chris Jones did this year against the best the state of AL had to offer. Can't wait to see him play for us.

They were just talking about him on H2H and Wyatt said jones was joking around with Mullen saying he needed to be practicing with the first string if he was going to get better. Mullen's paraphrased response was that Gabe Jackson was going to be kicking his butt soon enough so he needed to stay where he was and learn some technique. Supposedly, every around got a good laugh out of it. Sounds like team chemistry is good right including between the players and coaches.

This is why we had to sign him....

he is going to be a very special player. He hasn't even had much time in the weight room yet. My goodness, imagine what he will be like after a year of working out/training....

Jones passed hundreds of other players (rankings) in the final few months last year, including players 2-100. Which is damn impressive. Kimdeechee already had is name out there/being the top dog for at least a couple of years and it didn't matter how good Chris did, he wasn't going to pass RK based on that alone.

Pogue told some people after the high school all-star game practices that some of the OL's could block Nkimdichi but none could block Jones.

I got the obvious sarcasm and was simply sharing something I'd heard said by an Ole miss guy stating that our guy looked better to him than theirs.

Pogue should be considered NAFOOM at this point, I believe**
