What will really be interesting is to see how he plans on correcting that. Of course the difficulty of a team getting to 400 yards rushing in a single game should help him back those words up. But from what I saw last night, MSU will be lucky to finish around 175 ypg in rushing defense - which would have been dead last in the league last season.
but I was referring more to the way he would always find someone to throw under the bus, or tell the fans that we are just terrible and the other team is awesome (i.e. Maine is better than us). It was nice to hear a coach that (a) took responsibility and (b) seemed pissed off about how we played.
his credit that he puts the onus on the coaching staff and not on the players. He probably believes that they did put out effort the entire game and that he doesn't need to blame them, and that's to be admired. He doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who will tolerate any coach who isn't getting the job done. It's going to be a tough year and he needs to be given some leeway this year. After all, the buffoon Croom was given five which was five too many.
except for the fact that we rarely blitzed and when we did, it was succesful. That and the fact that despite being successful when blitzing, we didn't start blitzing again. Heck, not having SEC caliber players is all the more reason to try to send as many possible after the QB.
