This team proved all the doubters wrong. Most of you won't agree with this but when we got put in the group of death we weren't supposed to make it out. And we did. Everyone questioned Klinsmann on keeping Donovan off the roster. Green,Brooks, and Yedlan were the three who most thought were too young. That got proved wrong in a huge way. Klinsmann's subs were superb. Everyone of them was on point. We showed that USA isn't a team to be overlooked anymore. Not saying we are elite but we closed the gap. The only thing that sucks is that Timmy prob won't be back for the next cup.

I don't think Howard will be back either, but I do think the future is bright. And that includes Bradley in 4 years. Hate all you want.

Yedlin is going to be a stud. He's still only 20 years old. I read on twitter yesterday where some pretty big teams are showing interest in him after his performance in the World Cup. I think the future looks very bright and I can't wait for 2018. Guys who are very young now, like Yedlin, Green, Brooks, Johanson, and Diskerud, will be a strong nucleus of our team in four years. And Jozy Altidore is still only 24 years old and will be in his prime in four years. Bradley is just 26 and will be back for another World Cup. Yes, we'll likely lose Howard, but Guzan is also a very good goalkeeper and a starter for Aston Villa in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see where the team goes from here, but the future does look bright.

It seems like US Soccer has had pretty good goalies since 94.

You had Meola, Keller, Friedel and Howard.

Well, from what I saw in our last 2 games, we'd better have a damn good goalie.*

Did anyone else see the zoom of the belgian player tossing his waffles?...

Between the end of regulation and start of OT. I'll bet that looked appetizing on a 70 inch high-def. I think that was the guy who scored the first goal.

We desperately need Aaron to continuue his development to replace Dempsey. Dempsey gave us nothing, I mean nothing up top majority of tourney. He didn't even attempt to come back and hold up the ball while we moved up to final 1/3. I get that isn't his forte, but holy hell he disappeared. He along with Bradely were the clearly out of place players caused by Jozys injury. Another thing caused by Jozys injury was the amount of over the top balls we played, looking at you Bradley. That works on counters but not often on possession controlled attacks. Completely agree with Ballacks opinion on developing attacking center mids. Finally, cheers to Beasley, what a tourney by him.

I wonder if either him or Fabian Johnson could play the left side? Those two going forward would be nice to have.

How? They went 1-2-1 and looked overmatched in every game, including the Ghana win.

We didn't look overmatched at all in the Portugal game. We deserved to win that one. I won't argue with the other three games, however.
