Willie Taggart was fired at Florida Atlantic today. Is there a worse coach who scammed two really good programs to give him a completely under deserved job
How in hades did he get Oregon and Florida st jobs?

I don’t think him being hired by either program was that big of a stretch. He took over a WKU team that was 1 year into FBS and coming off an 0-12 season and took them to a bowl in his 3rd year. He then goes to USF, who was 3-9 the year before he arrived and gets them to 10-2 and a top 20 finish in his 4th year. The fact a major program (Oregon) hired him at that point is not that big of a surprise. He was only there a year before going to FSU.
There are many better examples than him (I’m not even sure he is an example). Many of them already mentioned:
Lane Kiffin
Mel Tucker
Steve Sarkisian
John L. Smith - Arkansas hired him coming off a top 5 finish.
Rich Rodriguez - went 32-5 with Pat White and Steve Slaton. Went 86-78 at WVU, Michigan and Arizona without those 2 players.
Dennis Franchione - went 17-8 at Bama, then hired by Texas A&M, where he went 32-28.
Mike Riley - had 4 losing conference records in his last 5 years at Oregon State and got hired by Nebraska
Here are some guys that moved on to a job after failing at a major program that were wtf hires:
Charlie Weiss
Kevin Sumlin
Will Muschamp
