I know he let earned run in last year, but can't remember what the circumstances were. But today, 5 batters faced, 1 hit, two walks, and only one strikeout. Terrible**

I think last year vs Samford.

It was almost like the situation in the Gator bowl this year where Russell had an unexpected career-worst day. Both Stratton and Holder had their worst outings of the year in the Tallahassee regional.

Is it just me or does Holder use a very small portion of the zone? It seems like 80% of his pitches hit the same general area and while it's great that he's that accurate with two wicked pitches, I feel like batters will figure that out sooner or later. Oh well, I guess they never did last year so maybe I'm dreamin

Meh... the ump wasn't calling a lot of curves for strikes today. Even if it fell right over the middle.
Don't get me wrong, it went both ways today, so I'm not complaining.
But if you've got an effective curve like Holder, that you can't use much because of the zone, you're going to struggle when the batters can sit and wait on fastball.

Was at the game today, it was frickin frigid....some guys have a tough time with grip and release point in the cold. I'm hoping that's all it was. Also, from where we were sitting, it seemed when Holder came in, the zone got smaller. All game the ump was giving the corners pretty consistently, just didn't seem that way on several of Holder's pitches. Maybe that's just me

For a ump who had a liberal strike zone all day long, it got very

tight in the ninth and you are right, he wasn't calling that curve. It's not where it ends up in the catcher's mitt but rather where it crosses the plate and a lot of those curves from JH looked like strikes to me.
