This is getting ridiculous. Look, I like the hustle and effort as much as anyone, but it's for nothing if they can't attend class and keep out of trouble.
I don't want to dish out any unnecessary information, but I lost a ton of respect for the team when I heard some of their antics earlier this season.
Not going to post. PM me if you HAVE to know. Otherwise all you need to know is they're doing a bunch of dumb **** high schoolers do. Not illegal. Just stupid.
The question is, is this something that basketball players have been accustomed to over the years and now they aren't being allowed to do it under the new regime? My completely uninformed guess would be that this stupid stuff has been allowed for years and it's hard to change the culture overnight.
I'll say this, I'd rather Ray be a hard *** in a year where he basically gets a pass anyway than in a year where a win or two will determine whether we're in the dance or not. .
suspended indefinitely.
Not Stans' players. 150% guarantee you if Bost or a vocal senior was around A. We could play transition basketball. B. There would be someone kicking their asses for getting in trouble.Basketball doesnt have to be treated any differently from football or baseball
You can have a program that isnt full of weedheads and problem chilren...Ray is not doing anything Mullen or Cohen doesnt already do. The problem is that the leftovers from the Stands regime are having trouble with being disciplined and being held accountable. They will either conform or they will transfer after this semester.
my gawd this just keeps getting worse and worse
I can when as a fan I have continued to go games (I've veen to every homegame this season and watched every single game on TV) even during a 10 game losing streak and they continue to take a **** on my fanhood. To be clear, he inherited Lewis, Johnson, and Steele and two well-respected individuals at walk-on spots. You act like he took over a full early 2000's Baylor roster. Not sure how anyone could have lost any respect for the players Ray inherited. I don't know that I've ever seen any coach step into a worse situation. I just hope he can get it straightened out.
He's dealing with the majority of guys who have never known anyone else as a college coach.
FYI - the suspensions are university policy. Ray doesn't have a choice in the matter.
I personally wasn't referring to anyone other than freshman and sophomores. And how many Freshman have been suspended?
THIS ALL DAY LONG
And why I said Ray isnt doing anything Mullen and Cohen isnt doing. You fail a piss test- you get suspended. It's pretty simple
Wouldn't it have a game length attached to it? I'm pretty sure our suspension lengths for failed tests are set in stone, so what is up with all of this indefinite crap? It sounds like Ray is overly trying to be a hardass here.
and should add the 2-3 players to this years class before he lets the transfers screw him for next year just like this year. Look at UK's signees right now. They have 6 guys signed. They only have 2 seniors I think. Kentucky knows attrition is going to happen and they already have planned for it. MSU and Ray however have capped their signees at 3 which puts MSU at 13 IF everyone comes back. Odds are that's not happening so I think Ray should sign 2-3 more players and when the attrition happens MSU will already be prepared for it. Ray has 9-10 months before next season starts to get 2-3 more players or he'll start another year with not a full deck it looks like. Will Ray add ANY walk-ons for next year too?
Is the 3 counting Darunnya? He only counts against a football scholly does he not?
Why are people all the sudden failing piss tests?
Just curious. Players definitely weren't worried about it when I was in college, football, basketball, and definitely not baseball. Are we giving more tests now? Or were we giving the same number of test before but players were being tipped off ahead of time? Or did we just let them cheat? Or have the tests gotten harder to beat?
