Since we're doing best, might as well do worst. The qualification is the player had to have had a significant role on the team, that is started several games at their position. You can't pick the fourth string safety that got burned on a deep pass play. Or any of the Morgan brothers not named Josh.

This is a hard decision to make, but I'm going to go with John Michael Marlin. I hope some of the more seasoned people here can give insight on truly terrible players in the 70s and 80s.

I hated to see that MF'r waiting for the ball. Henig was pretty damn bad too. Watching him cry on the sidelines made me want to throw the TV out the window (bamafanesque). The only thing keeping me from throwing the TV was the fact that I was laughing. The last couple of Croom's years, my wife would swear that I was skitzo.

All of them. We had a good D with Morgan as safety. The backup QB seemed like a good backup QB. Just hate seein them hated on.

Let's see....every kicker signed by Croom.

Worst since Ty Evans doesn't fit your criteria, would be Dontae Walker. NFL sized talent in a midget sized attitude. Honorable mention to Richard Birch for being awesome and blowing it all way.

How about "phone booth" Hargro
Actually I think phone booth referred to Ray Ray Bivines. However, I agree about Hargro. To explain just how bad Hargro was, I thought Will Prosser sucked. However, Hargro wasn't 1/10th the receiver that Prosser was.

Hargo couldn't catch a cold though. This is a bad thread b/c there are just so many good choices.

never healed.

My worst would have to be MS Dept. of Corrections Inmate #109800 (Fattay Walker for those who don't want to look it up).

Zach "I give up 3rd and goal from the 28" Smith. Might be the worst secondary player I have ever seen in college football in the the few games he did start. Not to mention he is white, slow, and can't jump and/or cover. I think LaFell knocked the talent out of him in 2007.

Michael "Fur Boy" Henig.

He can't hold Tyson Lee's jockstrap. Tyson may not be the best quarterback in the league, but he's not the worst - I think he's on par with most MSU quarterbacks sans John Bond (greatest QB in school history) and Wayne Madkin (winner).

Mike Henig was the only MSU player I have ever wished injury upon. I didn't want him to get hurt badly, just enough to get him off the field. He had no business playing college football - and by college I mean SEC, Division I, II, III, NAIA or Junior College. And thank goodness Mullen came along because we had another one on the way in the Josh Hollingsworth kid from Hamilton, AL. Hollingsworth had Henig 2,0 written all over him. After Mullen pulled his offer, Samford came calling and backed off. He ended up at Furman, but is likely never to see the field unless there is an injury.

Plus, he cried on the sidelines on national television - he was a *****.

A ***** that played a few series with a broken collarbone. He played with some other breaks too. He was a bad QB, but he was anything but a *****. He was full of guts and determination.

Henig was plenty tough, just out of his league.

There are several kinds of crying. There's crying because you're just a wuss and there's crying because you're so pissed you can't help it. I think Henig's unseemly display of tears was more the latter. </p>

The worst DB i've ever seen play D1 football. He honestly never even looked like he even tried to keep someone from catching a pass. Looked like he would wait till they caught it and then try to make the tackle. Never turned around to look for the ball, was just horrible.

Odell made Zach Smith look like Deion Sanders. Just watch the Oregon game from 2003 and see what I mean. Odell wouldn't be within 15 yards of the receiver.....ever.

He was never a world beater but I think he was going to be serviceable lineman.... but he could never get healthy.

My memory could be very wrong

is a 10x better as a pro player than he ever was here

Not sure if he still does this, but a few years ago during the starting lineups he would snub State and only refer to playing at Provine

Odell Bradley was easiest the worst player to ever step foot onto Scott Field. Money Mike would be my second pick, but I'd say Bradley has a good lead on even him. Our current CB's look like All-Pro's compared to Bradley.

I'm going with John Michael Marlin, Shanks McAdams, Kendall Roberson, Odell Bradley, and Avery House

I could've walked across Scott Field and TJ would have overran the play and taken himself out of position to make the tackle.

the only school in America that thinks that because you are white, you therefore can not play.

In a couple of years, people are going to be bitching about Cameron Lawrence. Book it.

I can only assume We are talking about players who actually got playing time or We would have to include some scrubs who never hit the field.

Tay Galloway comes to mind for me. Rockey insisted on playing him in front of others who were clearly better. Once Felker even ran the same play for the first 11 plays of the game vs. UT , Galloway off left tackle. The results were God awful , no 1st downs and only a few yards to boot. The only score of the day that day was a run of about 80 yards by a guy who I believe was named David Fair. We got slaughtered and of course Tay continued to be the starter.

If any of my story is incorrect , I am over 40 , my memory isn't great and I like to drink.
