nothing else even comes remotely close. You actually have to have a brain that understands a bit of history to"get" it. Fabulous!!!!!

The Bond/Queen Elizabeth "skit" was good. Some nice Industrial Revolution action and scenery (including the hoisting of the rings). Other than that, it really reeked.

This was a missed opportunity with a few highlights, some great ideas, and generally poor execution (in design, not actual hands on activity).

Chinese propaghanda over British history, which is virtually our own other than the unpleasentry in 1776? Quite frankly the last one reminded me of 1936. Perhaps you prefer that one over this one as well?

Couple that with no flashy pyros and no *** tight uniforms, no babes and no bare breasts and this crowd grows bored quickly.

and repulsive in the extreme and you HAVE to take into account the politics behind it because that was what it was, a TOTAL political exercise. Gobbels would have LOVED it.

over Red Chinese and VERY proud of that fact. Come on JWS, you can't tell me you don't understand what I'm talking about. 08 was the most political opening statement since 36.

5 minutes of that one, and 10 mins of this one. Olympic opening ceremonies are booooring...

I have NO IDEA if this one, or 08, or any other is political. Hurry up with the volleyball and synchronized swimming - like most real men, I want to see some fannies!

elsewhere that isn't surprising at all. Olympic opening ceremonies are ALWAYS a political exercise. This one is totally in line with the current UK. Even the parts I didn't like. The Chinese one was scary, if you have any sense at all.

preferred goose stepping soldiers like last time to who brought the Olympic Flag in this time. JWS I'm appalled that a supposed lib like you would prefer the last one to this. You, as I have said many times, are no liberal.
