Would college basketball be better served with a 24 second shot clock

I like the fact that an underdog team can slow down the pace of a game and keep it close. It certainly does make for "less exciting" basketball on a game by game basis, but I'd rather see more teams being able to compete in the college game. Of course, that's just my preference...

The 35 second clock is a huge equalizer in the college game. It basically allows lesser teams to slow their offensive sets down and provides an extra 11 seconds to work the offense to find the right pick, cut, pass, whatever. The beauty of the 24 second clock is that once your primary set breaks down, it's up to one person to create. With the talent in the NBA, which even though there are great and terrible teams the talent level is still really high, it's awesome. With the huge disparity in ability in college, it would significantly reduce the "upset."

So, I hate the 35 second clock because it can make college basketball excruciating to watch, but I see the need and reason for it.

The tournament is fantastic, though. For some reason I can get over games in the 50s when the loser has to go home.

He scored 24 ppg his SR season as it was. Give him a shot clock and a 3-point line and he would have gotten at least 28 ppg. Who can forget that thrilling 23-20 loss to Georgia.

NBA teams move the ball into the frontcourt with pace and quickly get into their sets. College teams many times walk the ball up the court and take a good 10-15 seconds just to get into their offense. Makes for a slow game to watch.

Crisp, quickpasses. Bounce passes. Patient. Players in proper position to attack the zone (at the FT line and on the baseline EVERY possession).

Maybe I'm just not used to seeing an offense have a cluewhen facing a2-3 zone...
