Would you date a rival’s cheerleader? (help with research)

We're looking to answer that question by conducting research on college football rivalries across the country. Please take our survey to tell us what rivalry means to Mississippi State fans, and we'll come back to share the results later in the year. As an added incentive, we'll give away three Amazon gift cards ($100, $50, $50) via a random drawing on or about September 10.

Thanks in advance for helping with our research!

(To Mods: Sorry if this isn't acceptable use of the board or if you'd like it posted elsewhere, just please let us know and we'll remove it)

I did it (after looking up the researchers). It was pretty interesting--especially the rivalry quotient question.

What did y'all put on the rivalry question?

I put:
Ole Miss - 70
Alabama - 10
LSU - 10
Auburn -10

Even though the latter three have dominated us, the frequency of playing them and our relatively close locations have made for a rivalry of some sorts to our fan base. As I said in the survey though, it won't surprise me in the least if the fans of those schools mention us only infrequently. Bama will put AU, UT and LSU. LSU will put Bama and UM. Auburn will put Bama and UGA.

people will put "go to hell ole miss" as their statement on the last page?

My Rivalries Rankings

OM - 50
LSU - 25 (Just because we can't beat them)
Bama - 15 (Just because they are Bama)
Arkansas - 10 (We can get them now, but there was a time when they were LSU jr.)

I put 90/10 Ole Miss/Bama. To me, a bit part of being rivals isn't just playing a team often and wanting to beat them. An important aspect is the fan bases disliking each other, and I hate the sidewalk Mississippi-resident Bama fans as much and maybe more than the average Ole Miss fan.

95 OM / 5 Bama

I indicated that I would pay more for a W over Bama though. All other things considered equal, I would pay more to beat OM, but since Bama is clearly the best program in the nation at the moment, it's more important to me that we beat them despite me hating OM so much more.

Anyone else do the same? Full disclosure, it was 50 bucks for OM and 100 for Bama.

I was $50 each for UM and Bama. Roughly the price of a ticket.

(Apparently if you listed more than two rivals like I did, it asks questions about the primary and then asks followups about all the others as a group but using one of them as the example. For me that was Bama.)

I gave Ole Miss 85%, Auburn 5%, Alabama 5%, LSU 5%

In the final line I wrote: Ole Miss and Auburn are the dirtiest programs in the SEC

Ole Miss 70 / Bama 30 Bama only crept that high because I lived there for years. To know them is to dislike them. When I lived there, I actually would've traded an Ole Miss win for a Bama win without any hesitation. Probably still would, but with hesitation because I'm back in MS...

This is funny, uh, since Mstate is the one currently on probation. Are y'all just not very good at cheating?

I replied "go to hell Ole Miss and Cam Newton"

80/20 OM and Auburn

$500 for OM guaranteed loss but that is only because I would have at least $10,000 in bets in Vegas since it is guaranteed (I assumed OM favored of couse).

OM 80, Bama 10, Auburn 5, LSU 5. I was tempted to give auburn more points given recent events, but over the course of my life I don't really care as much about beating them as I do bama.

My dilemma... Would you pay more for an OM win or a Bama win. I view OM as a bigger rival, but right now I think I'd pay significantly more for a Bama win.
