Renardo Sidney along with the rest of our team gives us a realistic shot of a DEEP run in March Madness. While beating Bama and hopefully making a minor bowl this year would be nice, I would definitely trade it for the chance at our second final four.

Not only for everything that comes with beating an undefeated top 5 team under the lights, but there's no guarantee Sidney puts us over the top.

I think we still have a damn good year without sidney, along with better team chemistry. But to beat a #2 team(especially Alabama) providing us with a chance to win 1 out of 2 to make it to a bowl this year, would just put the icing on the cake for this football season.

I'm leaning towards Sidney, but I have successfully mind-17ed myself.

Which should be polled: Sidney vs. Bama win or which has the better chance of happening?

no question, although we'll be good in bball, Sidney could mean a Final 4, you can't pay for that kind of exposure. Also, we've beaten bama a few times since '96, otherwise I might be inclined to take the bama win.

...and I can't believe folks seriously think otherwise. Beat Bama, we have a realistic shot at a bowl in Mullen's first year against the toughest schedule in the nation. That can really jumpstart the program.

If Sidney doesn't get in, we still should have a good team. Plus, we have no way of knowing if he's going to be a bust or not. Or, he could get cleared and get injured tomorrow.

Seriously, this is a no-brainer.

Also, about the exposure you couldn't pay for...you may not want the exposure that Sidney will give us.

I would love to go to a bowl game, but I've got to go with Sidney on this one. We saw what happened after we last went to a crap bowl. I don't care enough about the Liberty Bowl or Independence Bowl to give up having a legitimate NBA player on our basketball team. After all that heartache - Bender, Outlaw, Monta - I want to see what he could bring to the table. As lifelong State fans, you know the wins over Bama in football are few and far between. I would save that win for a year when we have a team that can go to a big Bowl Game.
