1) Have a mature magnolia tree in your yard
2) Have a massive sweet gum tree in your yard
3) Have a massive statue of Joe Moorhead in your yard

I had two of the three at my previous home. I'd have rather had the statue. I was on a two acre lot and that magnolia took up half the backyard

But what if Number 3 was a Massive Statue of Sly Croom wearing a Maroon is All That Matters shirt? **

What if I currently have a two-day-old mound from a mastiff in the front yard? Do I get credit by association for #3?

1 or 2. I could simply carve an image of Robert E. Lee in either and someone would be along to take down the tree in short order. I'm not sure how I'd get rid of the statue.

I already have 2 out of 3, why not make it the trifecta?

I have 5 mature gums on a half acre lot. I dare you to walk barefoot in the yard.

Removing trees are a pain in the ***. I would rather have the Statue. A good sledge hammer will work.

I'll take the magnolia. I know they are messy and not even kudzoo can grow under them, but I absolutely l love the look and smell of their flowers.

I will see your sweetgum and magnolias and raise you a weeping willow. They don't just make a mess they destroy infrastructure from the root version of kudzu.

Had a neighbor have his pool, irrigation, and septic system get destroyed by a weeping willow. $75k to replace the pool since it cracked the shell. Another $8k or do for the septic (roots filled up the lateral lines and you can't repair them, have to put in aerobic.)

Don't forget tulip poplar in the list of undesirables. They're continuously dropping something - blooms in the spring, then seed pods that are football shaped with sharp points, leaves start dropping in May and continue through the fall.
