Would you trade a top 10 pick for Big Ben?

rumors are now that Steelers are looking to deal Big Ben for a high pick. Dude does have 2 rings, and sure seems to be clutch late in games.

Yes? No?

it's a QB-driven league and he is a very good QB....with him, you already know what you will be getting- with Bradford or Clausen, who the hell knows??

Give me a winner to lead my team anyday

you know you're going to be playing 1/3 of the season without your starting QB. And you're going to be checking the newspapers every day to see if he did anything else stupid that might get him suspended again. I don't disagree with you, but there is a downside to taking him too.

But do I support THIS rumor? (from twitter, so you KNOW it's legit). If it looks like playing for a "players coach" isn't working out, and you need some discipline, what better place than...

be only real option
Absolutely.

If you are the Browns are you seriously going to go with Clausen over Big Ben? It's pretty simple really Big Ben = 2 Superbowls - Jimmy Clausen = ???

I am all for the Raiders getting him of they can. He is a good QB, and I would rather take my chances with him than watch Al Davis screw up another draft tomorrow night

As a fan he is frustratingly tough to watch. It seems like he is sacked 15 times a game, and 12 of of em arent because of the Oline, its because he waits for so damn long.

But at the same time, he is a brick, is tough to bring down, and makes some of the best plays of the week when in scamble mode.

His abilities cant be questioned and he has a proven track record. I would say that is clearly better than a top 10 draft pick that is an unknown in terms of proven record.

But the fact that he is a dumbass off the field would make it tough to trade for him.

yeah you'll miss him for a 3rd of a season that is probably a lost cause from the get go. You get to keep him for more years than 1 though. For some reason Panthers seems like a good fit for him. Dolphins could get him and tell Henne to go to hell who is probably going to be average anyway.

You'd be stupid to trade him for a draft pick, even the number one pick. How many teams suck because of the lack of a good quarterback? A lot of them.

He obviously has some mental issues and they, he and the NFL's Greatest Franchise, need to get them solved in a hurry. But talent like his is not an every day, or even an every year, thing. You don't trade the **** for a little feeling in the stomach. How many top picks have turned out to be crap? A shitload of em. And more to come.

Apparently the Bills said they aren't interested though.

Id make sure I'd have some WRs though before I traded for him.

He's a good QB for the Steelers. Put him on the Rams, Lions... and he's average as hell.<div>
</div><div>It's kind of like what Shaq said one time when someone asked him about Phil Jackson's triangle offense: "Give him the Clippers job and see how it works there".</div>

It may be the only way the Raiders can have a winning season. We saw how there first round pick went last year.....

As crazy and out of his mind as Al Davis is it wouldn't surprise me. Those fans deserve a winning team. Big Ben doesn't deserve a chance though. He's been accused of molesting/raping/whatever you wanna call it to 2 girls now. The guy needs to go. He doesn't deserve the spot light of being an NFL QB. When he said he wants to be a rolemodel for kids I almost laughed.

good luck with Big Ben losers, you will be upgrading the most important position in football

Put Brady on the Lions, and he would be pretty average too getting his *** beat down in the Motor City

You couldn't possibly be more wrong. Put him on the Rams or the Lions and he's a damn good QB on a bad team.

Because I'm going to assume that the Steelers would likely spend the pick on a QB. You're essentially trading an unproven QB- and all of them have some type of major issue, Bradford happens to have the least issues and even he is injury prone based on his college career- for a guy that has won the Super Bowl before and is a darn good veteran QB that is likely in his prime. He does have character issues, but he also knows how to win.

Top 10 picks have about a 25% chance of panning out. With him, you know what you're getting: A superbowl-winning QB.

1st round QB picks are a huge crapshoot. I know he's got some huge character issues and is a major *******, but I'd rather win games with him on my team than lose them with him on someone else's team.

and do whatever it takes to get Ben. I am a Steelers fan so I am praying that they dont trade him, but I would have to think the Vikes would be the preseason super bowl favorites if they landed Roethlisberger.

Anybody would be average on the Lions.

So.......are you saying 3x Super Bowl champ Tom Brady is average?

The year they lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl EVERYBODY, all the ESPN people, all the players, were talking about Brady being so freaky and so great and the best ever and on and on just liek they did with Peyton Manning this year.

if i had a top ten pick and need a qb id trade the pick for him in a heart beat. He may not be in the class of brees, manning, brady, or rivers. but he is easily a top 5-10 nfl qb. He is only 26 so easily has many more years left on his tires. Yeah clausen, mccoy and bradford could turn out to be the next peyton but you could easily have the next leaf, couch, or any of the oregon qbs that went several years ago. And if your the rams you know your not going to win next year anyway.

So what you are saying is, put a good quarterback on a bad team and that QB becomes average? <div>
</div><div>Which was exactly my point. Which means you are agreeing with me. Which means this could be one of those rare occasions where I am wrong.</div>

but he's not Manning/Brees/Brady good.. and that's what it would take for me to trade a pick that high. He holds the ball too long, takes unneccessary hits, and does stupid **** in the pocket like try to throw the ball with 2 guys hanging on him. Like Blue said, he's the right QB for that team. For a team with a rhythm passing game where the ball needs to come out on time, I'm not so sure.

He has two rings and that doesn't lie. Bradford and Clausen are going to need to take some time to learn and even then they are still unproven and could be busts. Big Ben is a proven winner and you know what you are getting out of him if he can just stay away from his off the field issues.

get Big Ben and that would add a big piece to that team's puzzle for success. It's much easier to bring in RB's and WR's to go with a good QB. Most of those teams are drafting that high because they dont have a top notch QB. Once you get that piece, adding the rest are much easier.

"Which means this could be one of those rare occasions where I am wrong"

**** son, we can count on one hand the number of times you have been right... Goat, Ronny, and a couple others, are the only ones keeping you off rock bottom

its the most important part of a football team and its much easier to add the other parts around him once you have one. FA's actually want to sign with you if you have a good QB...QB picks are crapshoots, even in the 1st round- go with the known commodity to make your team better
