The issue isn't that he can't dial up a fastball, its his arm strength on routine throws.... Some guys and throw darts effortlessly, other need to load up. I think that is usually evidenced on the first read, if he needs to change targets and reset he seems to lose strength.... You could see that on some of the passes into the flats that took forever to get out there.Class leadership by our coach if he is taking the heat for CL but CL makes 1-2 critical mental mistakes every game. On a high note he did seem to have more zip on his balls, maybe his issue is mechanics and not a strength.

I don't have a losing attitude. We didn't lose because of that play. We lost because we were 3/12 on third down and they were 11/17. His receivers made some ridiculous plays on third and long.
nobody liked that spike, but tomorrow you will see the real reason we lost, and feel proud that we had them on the ropes, and they had to beat us, we didn't beat ourselves.

I've wanted to see Rettig all year, but apart from the bad mistakes at the end (taking the sack and the spike - and much of that is on the staff for not consering TOs), Laviano played a really good game. He made a bunch of very nice throws (especially the 3 TDs to Carroo), used his legs a couple of times to good effect and made good decisions, in general. We almost just upset the #4 team in the country and y'all are being way over the top negative for some reason I can't quite fathom.

I'm really surprised by all the acceptance of a another moral victory here. All these, "we played better than the expectations." posts are a loser's attitude. How anyone can be happy with last night is beyond me. We had chances to put this game away and didn't. Also why is no one questioning the spike on first down of the last drive? If Laviano has such a good understanding of the playbook and offense (which has been the justification people have been using for him starting over Rettig) Then why does he need to spike the ball and get a call from the coordinator. He killed all momentum after converting a huge third and long because he's not confident in his own ability to run an effective 2 minute drill.

I can't remember but I've seen it. I feel like I've even seen it twice ever. These kind of things happen in the heat the moment sometimes. It's still embarrassing though.
