Pretty decent brawl. Mattingly had to know Greinke would get hit if he went up to bat. He was at 98 pitches, he shoulda been pulled. Lots of suspensions coming.

Surely Kennedy didn't hit Puig because of the 4 strike at bat he had his previous time up

Did anyone actually throw a punch? Looked like a bunch of hardcore chest bumping. Kinda lame.

Roid rage

A Dback got pushed over the dugout railing by a Dodger - looked like he tried to flip him but couldn't.

Greinke is killing me. He's the best pitcher I have on my fantasy team and he's caused 2 brawls already this year.

You and me both

(he's 2nd best on my team behind Darvish). When I watched the replay I was yelling at the screen "Not Greinke, your bones are made out of balsa wood!" He should have been up there in full catcher's gear.

I have both Braun and A-Rod so 17 you.

it's your own fault for even drafting aroid. at best you were getting what? half a season from an avg 3B? and that's if you let him eat up a bench spot or your DL slot the first half of the season.

A pitch gets away from Kennedy and now another vicious cycle of throwing fastballs at human beings becomes "necessary." Baseball is the sport with the most blatant manifestations of petty resentment that could wind up getting someone seriously injured, and someone will have to be seriously injured before anything changes.

It's funny that if you intentionally hit someone with a 98 mph fastball in the head, you "may" get ejected. But if you throw a punch, you're suspended.

Kennedy hit him on purpose because Greinke hit Montero on purpose because Kennedy hit Puig on purpose. Those two teams HATE each other and it all started last year when Parra got hit after he pimped a homerun and Kershaw and him had words from dugout to dugout. It's been boiling ever since. After Greinke got hit last night he tried to take out Gregorious while sliding. This hasn't ended. If anyone had swung at McGwire last night he was about to destroy half the DBacks lineup. McGwire is STILL the biggest badass on both those squads. Pretty sure Matt Williams and Kirk Gibson shat themselves when McGwire had a fist full of both their jerseys at the same time. Mattingly threw Trammel to the ground too. Last nights events were AWESOME! I love baseball.

Belisario and Puig threw punches last night and for some reason the assistant hitting coach for the DBacks got the worst of it. Howell tried to throw him over the railing (then came in to pitch) before Miggy saw it and threw Howell on the ground. In the Giants/Pirates game the Giants threw at the Pirates twice for hitting Scutaro. I have a feeling a fight is brewing in that series too.

I think Kennedy's expression after hitting puig said that it was an accident. IK seemed awfully upset with himself, especially when compared to his hit on Greinke later on (I think he was still pitching then).

If the MLB gave two ***** about stopping the problem it would suspend pitchers for throwing at batters intentionally and suspend players for leaving the dugout the way the NBA suspends players for leaving the bench. But MLB will either never do this or wait until someone is killed or put out of service because baseball is historically reactive and not proactive. /rant. Congratulations on making it to Omaha by the way, bullies, Cohen is going to be a good one for a long long time.

24th rd in a 16 team league. Needless to say, there isn't much talent left at that point. DL spots don't count against your roster, so I took a flyer.

I love bench clearing baseball brawls too. I'm not exactly sure why. I guess because it's a team thing and it doesn't happen all the time. However, it can go overboard. Players should fight players and coaches against coaches. Pedro on Zimmer type stuff should never happen. And purposefully targeting the head should never be acceptable. I like how they threw at the pitcher as well. This is why you usually see the AL one's get so out of hand for the pitcher doesn't have to bat. Bob Gibson saw the plate as his and if a hitter tried to make claim to it he went down. Gibson also had to bat. Different era, I know.
