Wow. Pollard lists 3 coaches that would get MSU back on his list.

I think all of us over 25 know how the Wayne Brent experiment turned out at Ole Miss. All he has done since, is use the MBA to bring him top HS players at Piney Woods and now Calloway.

I could live with us getting Payne or Kirby, but WAYNE 17'n BRENT????? WT17

even if we hire one of them on their own merit, the perception will be that we hired them to appease a recruit.

Kirby - Only if we get more desperate than we are now.
Payne - No.
Brent - Hell No.

He is still coaching in the NCAA and will be until after the championship game. If Stick has his eye on him, we won't know anything until then. I like that Scott has kept this under wraps but damn it's irritating as Hell to wait and watch as Rodney's dad talks possible transfer, signees appear to be wavering and the one recruit we ALL want has removed us from his list. I was preaching patience a week ago but even mine is wearing thin now. We need to get off the pot and do something. Send somebody to all the signees houses and at least talk to them and reassure them and gas the chopper up and head to Kemper County as soon as Pollard gets home to tell him how badly we want him at MSU. Take Rodney on the trip and have them sit down and talk.

before Payne and Brent shouldn't even be worth mentioning. We were successful for the most part while Kirby was with Stans and Kirby was loyal to our program while he was here and is a heck of a recruiter with a lot of years experience. We could certainly do worse.

he is an asst- and it wouldnt have taken away from what Kentucky does in the NCAA Tourney

Coaches get hired before bowl games all the time- this is no different

as their next coach.

If we have as Coach34 alluded to a couple days ago, already made the Payne Train hire then why can't we go ahead and formally announce it like Tulsa did with Manning???

This whole coaching search has been a cluster 17

Why the 17 don't you "six pack rewind" (gay, by the way) all the times you've been wrong on this topic?

peaches is never wrong. There are just circumstances that occur that alter events which he correctly predicted, initially.

What better reason is there to go somewhere than a coach? This is a multi-million dollar decision for a possible premier athlete. And for us as fans we want someone who can bring in a possible top 10 draft pick. Hell I'd take Shabazz's dad if it meant Shabazz comes as well. I bet Pollard would then as well, one year of not jacking it up and we are back in the spotlight. This train can turn on a dime positive or negative. And the best coach in the world (lets say John Wooden in his prime) can't win without players

A better question might be who can deliver Pollard this year and have a really good shot at Kingsley and Johnathan Williams next year? For better or worse college basketball is a continuum of placating 16 and 17 year-olds
