was worth it. He is a beast. There is a noticeable difference in the middle when he is out. We better bring back Johnny Carpenter for the Egg Bowl.

OM has issues with the left side of their line. Snead misses Wallace, but he will play better. They have a good, solid team, but Bama is clearly the best in the West.

Yeah it is not like we put in our first team defense with the game out of question to seal a shut out.

is what most teams run in that situation. Memphis State probably assumed that is what UM was going to do, but know what they say about the word assume.

I don't recall State doing that. If you're talking about yesterday, we had our third string defense in for about half of the fourh quarter, and could have put the first string back in to preseve the shutout if we had chosen to do so.

The 4th string RB got the carry and it was handed to him by the 2nd string QB who had just taken a 10 yard sack. It's week one. Working on the kinks.

and our 4th string TB was going to break 3 tackles on their 1st string D to score from the 35 yd line with a min left......dubmass.

We should have scheduled a lower tiered SWAC team so we could feel better about ourselves.....

and all games are final after the 3rd? Forget this ESPNSEC deal and give me back college football pre-2009. I liked football better when the full game was played and whoever had the highest score at the end was the winner.

just popped on NAFOOM for the first time as well. You guys are correct. We looked horrible today and any team in the west would have had their way with us today. We have a lot of crap to fix and very little time to do it in. I really didn't think by using Davis up the middle that we were trying to run the score up. We had just taken a sack on our 2nd string QB. I really think the use of the word 'class' is a bit much here. Memphis had some cheap shots in the game and I felt Calhoun chop blocked Hardy and rolled on his leg purposely. They also had some shots on Snead that should have been called. I would rather be done with Memphis for good personally.

Well, and for those that didn't see it, Memphis's center kicked Patrick Trahan in the stomach while Trahan was on his back in the endzone after a pass play in the 3rd quarter. He did it behind the officials, so he didn't get called, but it was a blatant kick to the stomach, so if anything, I say we should've been throwing the ball with a minute to go every play rather than running the ball on 3rd and long from about the 35.

F Memphis. They get what they deserve.

Bull! We ran off-tackle and Memphis didn't tackle. It's not our fault they cannot make a tackle. Too bad for Memphis State and their cheap-shot asses, this series is over and they can suck my ***!!!

What's shocking is you scoring 45, even against a SWAC team.

Memphis has twice the wins ya'll have by seasons end.
