Norwood took a return 80 yards downfield to the chicago 20. 4 plays later the Atlanta kicker missed a field goal that would have put them up two scores. Chicago subsequently drove down the field and went ahead 1 point. Atlanta threw a prayer down the field and Michael Jenkins hauled it in with one second left. Elam hit the 48 yarder to win the game.

That had to rip out the hearts of the Bears fans. Looks like Lovie Smith was on the field a little early celebrating.

i have to call ******** on the clock not running out on that play. Atlanta should have won that game outright way before the way it ended.

there are 7 seconds or less left in the game... if the final play is a FG attempt. I wouldn't have believed it, but I watched a documentary on one of the SEC crews a few years ago, and the lead guy says (at some point) he has to make sure to tell the sideline official (who runs the game clock) that the game clock WILL run out since there are only 7 seconds remaining.

Do you remember when the Patriots beat the Rams in Brady's first Super Bowl? The Pats' FG kick went through the uprights with just over 2 seconds left, but the refs let the clock run out.
