Here I was going through the season thinking we were playing pretty good overall defense, even though we weren't scoring anything off the defensive side, only to look at the statistics and see that we actually finished one spot lower in total defense in the SEC (11th) than we did in offense (10th). Mullen's definitely got his work cut out for him.

While it's hard to argue with your numbers, fixing the offense will kill two birds with one stone. The D would be much more effective if they a) weren't on the field so damn long and b) got to play with a lead every once in a while.

I'd almost be satisfied if the opposition wasn't starting at, or near mid-field nearly every possesstion!

That would be going up 24-0 in the first quarter. Then your defense knows the opponent has to start throwing, so they just go kill the quarterback all day.
