...It sounded to me like he's ready to turn the offense over to a coordinator.

The thing that I've told them is, that so they'll know, is that - hey, I'll never hang them out to dry. Don't worry about any criticism that the program receives. I'll handle that

Yeah, you've never thrown a player under the bus have you Croom? Oh, and you're great at handling that critism. You always take the blame. Right.

I read it that he will listen to Byrne on changes that need to be made, not that he was throwing in the towel. But he is definitely way less standoffish in that interview than i have ever heard him before.

and to me it reads "change is a coming" but Croom will still be here.

That's exactly what I get out of it too... I just hope that involves a new Offensive coordinator that will put points on the board, a new QB coach that has successfully coached the position, and a new special teams coach who actually knows a thing or two about special teams. And let me just say this: With all the grief that Woody and Ginger Kid get, I don't blame either one of them. They were both put in a position to coach something they no idea how to coach - The WCO and special teams respectively. But the time for experimentation is over.

I read it that Crxxm knows Byrne is going to ask him to make some changes, and he's willing to make changes up to a point. But there are some changes that Crxxm isn't willing to make, and if Byrne asks him to make those changes, some decisions are going to have to be made.

but I pulled it from the internets. If I knew how to change it, I would. I'll prolly just stop using it.

at Alabama. He is a position coach and that should be the extent of it.

Difference is they had the sense to get rid of him after one season.

With the dark hoodie on and the strings hanging down looking like two tusks, one might mistake him for a, oh, you know, a walrus!

This doesn't surprise me. He may hate all of our guts at MSU, but it's worth 1.7 million. A lot of people bust Croom's balls for his decision making, and rightfully so. I think some of that is because he tries to force something to happen, or gets too conservative trying to prevent something to happen- to try to cover his buddies ***. I think he was worried that GB would can his *** now that LT is gone after the Polk fiasco.

Last year, Croom made very few poor choices. The only thing I can think of is starting Henig, and he probably would have pulled him had Riddell not been suspended for LSU. Defensively, where he has allowed Ellis Johnson and Cheese to run things on there own- there have been very few poor decisions. ST's has been bad this year, but he obviously held his ST coaches accountable- Fired Amos Jones and chewing out Reed Stringer. Croom, however, has constantly stood up for Woody- no matter what- to the point of absurdity.

I understand why most everyone wants Croom gone. All you have to do is follow MSU football for a week or so, if that. But I really think Woody is severely holding Croom up as a coach. While I don't think that Croom is going to morph into Nick Saban by just getting rid of Woody, I think that he can possibly be a pretty good coach if he turns the offense over to someone else and lets them do their thing, like he does with the defense.

Whether anyone agrees with me or not it looks like we're about to find out.

Sounded like he was saying he knows things are not going good and he is going to fix it. Something to keep in mind. What Crxxm views as the problem and what the fans view as the problem are probably two totally different things (inside vs outside). Therefore, the change he makes will not be the change the fans expect.

If I had to guess, I would say what Crxxm means by change is his philosphy and/or approach and preparation. He has no intentions of quitting or firing anyone.

Still alot of football to play though. His words are worthless now. Let's see what he says after the cigar boys chew *** in Oxford.

Seems like Croom is finally starting to realize that the season is coming to a close and there needs to be some sort of change. I think this interview was a good one for Croom and it makes me respect him more for him finally talking about these kinds of things. I said respect, never said he was a good coach or was the right man for the job here.

The part where he talks about "when I come to the public a decision has already been made" makes me feel like a change will be made. I think he is pretty worried about GB coming in here and cleaning house. He is trying to cover his own ***.

Thanks KV for such an interesting interview with a man we have been trying to get words out of all year about this. We deserve it. MORE OF THIS PLEASE

Croom's here next year, unless if he refuses to fire woody. And I think when it comes down to it, he'll do what it takes to keep his job.

if these quotes and emotions are only appropriate for THIS moment in time. Or could two blow out losses totally change the dynamic of this thing.

I say this is a fluid situation

.......not going to "fire himself" before he fires Woody.

Oh well, get ready for another really ****** year in 2009. You ain't gonna sell me that we're going to get an OC who will make enough difference in 2009 to have a winning season. This time next year we're going to be talking about firing Croom yet again, and maybe then it'll really happen. Unfortunately we will have wasted a year that we could have used breaking in a new head coach.

move to Administration position. I also heard today that 2 other coaches will either be reassigned or let go with pay but have no clue who. But i would assume Stringer is history.

the hell does that mean? Seriously...is he saying that when he expresses something about it in public..or is he saying that he will be asking for public support...or is he just babbling...as usual..and biding for time?? Somebody "hep" me please..This man has isolated himself and is attempting to mind control his team...somewhat like the dude did in Waco, TX. It's everyone else against him and his followers(the team) who don't really believe...very sad.

aren`t staying on his *** about how he`s got to conduct himself to get the max out of a buyout if that happens. Plus he has to keep his high character persona in place to fleece the next group that will put him on their payroll.</p>

24.3 PPG. The median value for Stallings 7 years (better than 90, 94, 95; worse than 91, 92, 93). Wish he would have failed that bad here (Alabama took a lot of flack for having subpar OL during those days, just like we have. However, they recruited much better on paper than us.) I'm in no way in support of keeping Woody as OC, but I wouldn't say he failed at Alabama (& I don't think he's the real reason for failure at MSU). He was supposedly a candidate for the HC job (fans sent lots of faxes in support of Dubose & he got the job).
