Hope you are right. DePaul is fine but they’re 111 in KenPom, below basically every Big Ten team. I know it’s early but…

Rebounding still worries me because the margins get thin in Big Ten play, but Tre and Page both flashed some strength on the glass. They just need to bring it every possession. And Page… he’s a problem. Big frame, big motor, soft hands, and the kind of vertical pop that changes possessions.

Martinelli is still a bucket in all the familiar ways with pace, footwork, and patience. Reid’s burst jumps off the screen. He sees the floor early, moves the ball on time, and already profiles as one of NU’s better perimeter defenders. Gelo and Mullins stacked a ton of plus defensive plays too. Between those two, Page, and Reid, NU isn’t going to get out athleted by many teams.

They could have and probably should have won by more, but the result is the result. The win is what matters.

We have four guys who can definitely play in the Big Ten … which is a silver lining for a November win. But I think CC may need to tighten the rotation early. Kropp, Green, West all seem overmatched.

Green is over matched currently on defense. Offense not so much. Dude has range and ability to get his own shot. West flashes some good things the feel isn’t there yet. Kropp has the farthest to go but also the most on his plate.

Page playing offense: absolute god

Page playing defense and rebounding: absolute spectator

Not sure I agree on Green. He can really shoot it. There’s a role for him. Kropp and West fully agree.

We’re four games into their first season at this level. Now is precisely when you play them. Let’s see how they develop.

They have stopped boxing out on D. Nobody wants to do the dirty work of finding a body and putting a body on it. Hope it becomes a practice point of emphasis.
Again, the first job is to block out and the second is to get the rebound
