C himI still don’t think it’s better than the reaction Hogan got in Montreal when he came back. It was 02 after WM I think. He had another one the next year in 03 as well.
One of the smartest things they’ve done in recent years is doing more big shows overseas. They were in Brussels today and that crowd was wild.
Nothing beats the pop at the Irish McNeal Boy’s Club in Shreveport on Mid-South tv tapings. A hundred folks sounded like a couple thousand. I miss those Cowboy Bill Watts days!
And maybe it’s only because I don’t pay attention as closely as I used to, but when they do occasionally hit you with a big swerve that you weren’t expecting, it’s pretty fun and nostalgic.
People talk all the time about this guy or that guy ruining wrestling, but the thing that has ruined the last 10-15 years of wrestling for me has been the internet. Well, that and the end of bra & panty matches
And on another note, while I’m really glad that they’re finally giving Cena a heel run before he hangs it up, I kinda feel like they botched the storyline. That “all you do is take and take” promo felt forced and unnatural to me
What they should’ve done is set up a story where he became gradually obsessed with getting that last title, and he goes from slightly bending some rules to flat out cheating or screwing over some guys to get his shot. That would’ve been a much cooler, gradual turn to me, but I’m glad we’re at least getting something other than another year of his stupid *** hustle, loyalty, and respect garbage
