another four star Army All American OL freshman transfer from UCLA to enroll in January. He may or may not know how to coach, but it appears he knows how to bring 'em to the boat.

Bad thing is -- we recruited the hell out of the kid until he committed to UCLA. Then, we gave up instead of keeping after him per the course...

That said, it's obvious Freeze stays in touch with these kids and essentially "recruits" them while they are on other rosters... Otherwise, how does anyone explain the abundance of transfers into OM from kids that they wanted in HS?

Is that legal? If not, you should report him to the appropriate authorities.

No -- but I'm not sure how we'd prove any of it...

Personally, I think it's smart -- and I'm jealous of it. Wish we did it as well. Could sure use an Anthony Alford and an extra 4* OL awaiting a chance to play for us next year...

Alford is a joke.

It would be near impossible to prove, but he's got to be... UCLA isn't a scrub school and they've got an incredible coach. I could understand a 4* All-American transferring to a hip UM team from WSU or something but come on.

This has been going on for a while, he put in his papers and was released from his scholarship a while back.

He has friends on the team that he played with in HS. His grandmother is pretty sick and he didn't care much for California. He approached Ole Miss, not the other way around. Freeze and staff almost told him to go JUCO instead of coming to OM.

Why is it that any time anyone in the state of Tennessee or Mississippi has a sick relative they transfer to Ole Miss? I'm not calling BS that his grandmother is sick, but the excuse of a sick relative is wearing out its welcome with me. Call it like it is. Geno Smith had WV locked down and someone probably had this kid's number too...

Why is Alford a joke to you?? Just wondering...

You serious, Clark?? You honestly think a head coach of an SEC school continues to "recruit" a kid that signed with another school just so that he can get said kid to transfer to Ole Miss after a year or two and only have 3 years at most to contribute but meanwhile recruit current recruits and then 2015 recruits as well as preparing for a grueling schedule??

Either you forgot your ***** or there are Black Helicopters flying above your house...

PS - We finished 2nd for him last year, we have at least one of his former teammates on our team that is the same age as him, and we happen to be having a decent season this year. Plus, Memphis is an hour or so away so it is close to home.

The only two people who have done this are both from Memphis and there is a distance clause in the waiver. Try again.

If we're not even mentioning the off-the-field issues, he couldn't win a starting job on a team that went 0-12. To be absolutely fair he was hurt for the 3 games he DNP, but in the 9 games he played in he racked up 2 touchdowns and that's with one of the best receivers in USM history 100% and able to go.

Then there's the whole him being a Blue Jay every other semester thing. I think he's too much trouble than he's worth, but that's my opinion. He was an absolute freak in high school so I think it's fair to point to that as what he could be, but I'll pass. I said that when he announced he'd transfer and there was a chance he would come to MSU.

And I'm saying the distance waiver is BS. It's on the same page as the academic waiver that allows a kid to transfer and play immediately so that he can get a masters degree in his field... because the people who use that waiver actually really wanted a masters in parks & rec.

Yes, it is completely believable that an SEC coach stays in contact with the young men that they recruit even after they go off to another college. I think that would make way more sense than just forgetting they existed once they pick another school, essentially letting them know that they only cared about them as football players and not people.

Are you serious, clark? Maybe not. Either way, dumb post.

He's just trolling for an argument...

I literally say "I like what they are doing" -- and at least one moron will generally try to argue it...

He hasn't been granted the waiver yet and I doubt he is.

Just a case of a kid making a mistake. He wanted to get away from Memphis (can't blame him), then he got homesick. Looking forward to him competing in couple of years. Our tackle situation looks okay so I wonder if he'll play guard.

You're right. I'm just a complete and utter dubmass. I apologize for the worst post that you've ever read. Sorry that I find it far fetched that Freeze keeps up with all of their near miss targets in order to get them to transfer. I'm sure Christian Morris being from MEMPHIS and OLE MISS coming in at 2nd last year for him didn't have anything to do with his decision.

But, I'll just say that some of yall reach so far for schemes that you build up in your minds that it has gotten out of control.

******** or not. It's the rule. We need to spend less time bitching about Mississippi using the rules to their advantage and more time learning how to do it ourselves.
