Sounds like Byron Allen doesn't know how to run TV stations
I’d never heard of him but looks like he made his money as a comedian. Why would he think he would know how to run a tv station? Stick to what you know.

That would be quite the change. WTVA has had 0 minutes of Jackson news over the last 50 years. I would have no idea what goes on in Jackson if not for Sixpack.

Jackson is some mythical place somewhere along the Natchez Trace going south**

As it should be. State government is literally the only connection this area has with Jackson.

We have a mix of WLOX, WDAM and facebook in Jackson on WLBT, with a smattering of local potholes and apartment residents without water lately. (Without questions about why the owners haven’t paid the bill)

You'll see a raise in monthly rates you didn't ask for or want soon on your local channels on your TV bill. These companies are worse than record labels. And that's a very low bar. The lowest.
Gray owns the local fox where I live. I have Hulu live right now. All of them go up. No matter where you live. I just prefer the way my fox local is compared to others owned by others. Seems a lot more professional broadcast and media

Reminder that local channels cost $0.00 with an antenna. More people need to do that until they stop raising rates.

I think he's always had his hand in a lot of stuff. Pretty sure whatever his net worth is, it's mostly because of various content he's created and business ventures, not comedy. His group owns the Weather Channel and made a bid to acquire BET a while back.

I'm in their viewing area, no raised rates for me. I recently put an antenna up in the metropolis of Starkville and get 14 local network channels (including all the Tupelo ones) that I actually kept and deleted another 6 or 8 that I didn't want to watch. 1 time fees of $80 for antenna, $20 conduit for a mast to mount it on and hooked it up to my old satellite wiring. Now, I find I don't even watch the major 4 networks, just the subchannels occasionally. I got the antenna mainly for football season because there's nothing on those networks till football season starts.
