WVU is #1 in the country in RPI (Rating Percentage Index). All 300+ teams are rated after every day of games.

Kansas is #3. Ohio State, an awesome team, is #6. The Buckeyes and Mountaineers will play in Cleveland on December 29 at noon on Fox Sports 1. I have my tickets for the game.

Dayton, a very good team, is #12.

Baylor is #13.

Oklahoma State is #15.

WVU 5th in the Big 12 preseason poll. Better reevaluate that, huh?

WVU not ranked. RPI important in basketball except o$u is 6th so if was tourney time this is the point where espn would make up their own power ranking based on reading the stars and leprechaun droppings o$u would be #1, and Mr. Brackets would be defending why while Herbie and Galloway had a 2 man circle jerk in the corner, different sport or not

They became delusional.
They started talking about how they are the premier basketball program in Texas and maybe the Big 12 and how Beard turns 3 stats into 5 stars.

Without Culver they aren't the same. Funny how the week Culver became a starting G for Minnesota they took a L.

But just as long as they can keep that 2020 commit from Chicago they will be alright.
Kid is 6-4 with a 6-10 wingspan and was born and raise in West Chicago where you play like Isiah Thomas, Doc Rivers and Pat Beverley.

Sagarin Rankings

WVU #13

https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaab/sagarin/

1 Kansas
9 Baylor
13 West Virginia
15 Texas Tech
28 Oklahoma State
38 Oklahoma
44 Texas
53 Iowa State
56 TCU
114 Kansas State
Not bad for a team that was dismissed in preseason considerations. If Oscar, Culver and the gaggle of 3-point shooters can continue to improve then WVU can climb in the team polls, too. In basketball, though, all that counts is making March Madness, then any team that wins 6 games is the national champ. I really have good vibes about this team, which should only get better as the season progresses, barring injuries.

is that your excuse for losing to Iowa, a B1G team? Maybe you simply owe Greg Jacobs, the OSUfan, and myself an apology.

Big ten basketball almost as embarrassing in basketball as football this year, almost only because its impossible to be more embarrassing than that so called football garbage they put out there, and Tech gets smoked by an also ran middle of pack team. Not non class going to all practice o$u, not barely a .500 record but ranked 3rd mich st., nope Iowa. Of course WVU SMOKED them with like 7 scholarship players during ome of our worst seasons ever so what can you really expect from them. I mean Pat Knight's not walking through that door lmao

There are some good teams in all five P5 conferences. Some have a weaker bottom than others, but the top teams at the end of the season in each conference have generally proven they are capable of beating anyone in the country on a given day. I don’t think the B12 has any complete crap teams, but we may not have any elite talent teams like a UK has done in the past with 5 lottery picks in their starting lineup. Those teams usually don’t win it all though because of lack of experience and lack of team unity.

With Villanova and Virginia winning titles recently without true elite talent up and down the roster, it is showing that teams with experience playing together can win without 5 lottery picks in the lineup. However, you still need a couple of difference makers on the floor to set you apart as great enough to win the close ones versus just good enough to get to the tournament.

This is pathetic.
You use the B1G to troll WVU.
Yet WVU hasn't played a B1G team.
Texas Tech did. Schools who hide behind conferences are weak for the most part.
I think WVU basketball can stand on their own two feet this year

How did I diss on the B1G when I just reported what other people say.
Just like with anything facts allude you.
This isn't a Big Ten message board so you aren't going to get a bunch of B1G homer comments except from the Marshall trolls.

There has been 5-6 games from pretty much every team so there is starting to be a body of work.

One team doesn't make a conference. There has to be all teams winning games they should.

Teams with RPI over 100 hurt conferences.
Kansas State is the only team as of right now who may drop that low in the Big 12.

You have three teams in your conference that are at a mid major level.

75 and below according to KenPom
Minnesota, Northwestern and Nebraska

When they calculate overall strength of a conference that is added in.

I fail to see the significance of this. It seems like crowing about the football team being tied for 1st in the Big 12 after the Kansas game earlier in the year. Objectively, WVU hasn't shown enough to truly be a top 25 team, much less top 10 at this point. I know it's still early in the season and that is the point. It is so early in the season that this metric along with all others are meaningless.

WTF is the point of this thread???

We look good with some nice victories

But Michigan has the BEST resume of anyone right now. They dominated TWO very very good teams back to back.

Now they have Louisville and if they beat them then someone should be slapped for not having them ranked.

Oklahoma State felt the same way and they beat you both times last year.
Guess what. They are undefeated as well and 7-0.
Just demolished Ole Miss by 41 points.
OM is a bubble NCAA team.
They put them sixth.

So far the only mistake by the official Big 12 predictions is Texas Tech.
But WVU was in that same position last year.

If you can’t see and admit Big Ten football and Big Ten hoops is a brutal meat grinder this year you have zero credibility.

Nothing like a good computer battle. Maybe we should play all games on computer to stop serious injuries.

It is a lot more objective than GregJacobs don't you think.
Computers don't show favoritism.
Plus they have data from all the games not just the ones they saw the scores of

Funny how NCAAs generally show how overrated Big12 is in hoops. Hey goofball you think this is finally the year Big12 gets a playoff win? I mean Big12 is only Conference that has never won a playoff game.

You gonna finally answer this Mega Thread question or walk away and hope I don’t ask it again. And again. And again. And again.
