Fall Slate Concludes with Pair vs. Marshall MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (October 15, 2015) – The West Virginia University baseball team concludes its fall season with a pair of games vs. in-state foe Marshall on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 17 at noon. Both games will be held at the new Monongalia County Ballpark, and admission is free for all fans. Updates will be available by following WVU Baseball on Twitter and Facebook. “These fall games are really important for a lot of reasons,” WVU coach Randy Mazey said. “We’ll be able to get a lot of young guys in and see what they can do, on top of winning two games against pretty good competition. This will take on a whole new level of fall baseball.” Last year against Marshall, the Mountaineers posted a 3-2 win at home before a 3-2 loss on the road. In Mazey’s first three years, WVU is 3-3 in the regular season against the Thundering Herd and 1-0 at Monongalia County Ballpark. “Since we play each other in the spring, we’re probably not going to try and give away too many secrets,” Mazey added. “We’re just going to go out and hit, throw and catch against their guys and see how we stack up and see how our new guys line up against a pretty good team.” WVU and Marshall are set to play each other twice in 2016, once in Morgantown and once in Huntington. The 2016 schedule is scheduled to be released in early November.
