Yes, it will be difficult for a team as young as WVU to remain consistent. Of course, thanks to our depth, the players know that anyone not going all-out all the time will be benched by Huggins.Don't swell your heads boys. It will get tougher to walk through that door.
68 team field and we are on the 2 line right now. The only ranking that matters is the NCAA ranking and they love us.Why are people worried about meaningless rankings? Last I heard it was a 64 team NCAA field.
Actually, a 68-team field, which makes your point even more valid. I don't give a crap about where WVU is ranked as long as Huggins Heroes are in March Madness. 6 straight victories and Huggins and my alma mater have their first national title in basketball, although I still contend that the 1942 NIT championship was a national title because, at that time, the NIT was bigger than the NCAA title. So much so that the NCAA had to make a rule that a team could NOT turn down an NCAA invite and go to the NIT but could do both, and some did.Why are people worried about meaningless rankings? Huggins Heroes? Good Lord...

It is OK to be wrong but it still does not change the fact it is a 68 team field. Conference champs who play in the play in game get the same pay out as a second round game who did not play in the first round.64 team field. The others are play in games same as a conference championship. If you want to count those play in games you might as well count every conference tournament game as NCAA field of...

Well, it made an impression on the guys handling national TV of the WVU-Ohio State game I attended in Cleveland. You know that if you saw ME holding my HUGGINS HEROES sign on national TV as the final score flashed across the bottom of the screen. But I guess you're used to being out of the loop because of your envy, jealousy and stupidity. Let's go, Huggins Heroes!! Catchy, huh? National TV thought so. People watching the game with me though so, asking if they could photograph me holding the sign. The Jumbotron guy thought so, showing me on it several times holding my Huggins Heroes sign. You are SO far off-base that you're not even in leftfield. You're in the street behind the stadium where the leftfield seats are. You are owned! And by an 87-year-old. Oh, the humiliation! Get back in grandma's basement where you belong to do your sulking! Meanwhile, I'll get back to LOVING this young team that can beat #2 without WVU's #1 being a factor. How many teams can do THAT?Huggins Heroes? Good Lord...
Sorry, but they among the 68 teams that can win March Madness, the same as #1 seeds. So it IS a 68-team tournament. Play-in game IS part of March Madness.Actually no. It's 64. Those 4 extra are play in games nothing more. Play in game = a conference championship game.

Not sure why you are digging in on this. Kind of like TVZ where your opinions are passed on as fact.So are conference tournament games. But you keep on keeping on old fart.

In 2011, the NCAA field expanded to 68 teams and the last 8 teams playing for four spots making the field into 64, which is called the first round and so on. The former first round is called the second round, the second round is called the third round, and the Sweet Sixteen is the same, but it is technically the fourth round in the current format, etc.[13]
In 2016, the field did not expand, but the round numbers changed again. The first four games containing the last 8 teams is now referred to as the first four. Consequently, the first round does not start until the first four games are out of the way and the field is narrowed to 64 teams. So after the first four games the first round starts instead of that being the second round. The Second is now when there are 32 teams left, the sweet sixteen is the third round, and so on.[14]
Have a happy and safe New Year.
