WVU on Top of CRCA Poll for Third Straight Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –For the third straight week, the West Virginia University rifle team ranks No. 1 in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.

Murray State jumps three spots and also checks in at No. 1 for the first time under coach Alan Lollar.

Today’s rankings are based on the last score shot by each team.

Alaska-Fairbanks, TCU and Kentucky rank third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

After a week off from competition, Air Force continues to sit at the No. 6 spot. Nebraska and Ohio State check in at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.

Memphis and N.C. State are tied for ninth place to round out this week’s top 10.

Following a Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) showdown against then-ranked No. 3 Kentucky, Mississippi dropped three spots to No. 16. The Rebels fell to Kentucky by an aggregated score of 4697-4603, on Oct. 24.

Following a two-week hiatus, West Virginia (2-0, 1-0) will hit the road for a pair of GARC matches at No. 9 Memphis on Saturday, Oct. 31, before traveling to Oxford, Mississippi, for a match at No. 16 Mississippi on Sunday, Nov. 1. Both matches are slated to begin at 9 a.m. ET
