These college conference tournaments and NCAA championships require that you have enough decent starters. I see WVU is going with their 'midweek' starter against Fordham, which makes sense, but you damn sure cannot afford to lose that opening game, and be forced to win the next three to advance. Teams with multiple top pitchers tend to do well in these quick turn game tournaments.
Snyder is their #2.

You throw your Saturday starter to open the NCAA Tournament if you are a #1 seed.
Fordham has history. They actually have more wins than any program even more than Texas. But those wins aren't against big time competition. Atlantic 10 is a bottom tier baseball conference.
