After the Canisius disaster, I wasn't expecting a good weekend. They proved me wrong, and I can't be happier. I think TCU is head and shoulders better than the rest of the conference but the Cowboys are with TT at the #2 spot. Big series win and it helps distance us from 8th and 9th place.

...it's baseball.

Sum of the season is all that matters. ...tried to explain that when our fans were trashing our team after a couple of losses.

After that debacle with Canisius i was not too sure about this very young Moutaineer team. Great series win over oSu who were ranked #16.

It's painfully obvious we are a different team on weekdays. We lost at Penn State and have yet to win since we've renewed our series with them, and they are straight up bad and have been bad. Canisius is a team like Niagara, Manhattan, Siena, etc...you play them to pad your wins and tune your team. Marshall's RPI is not terrible and they always throw a weekend starter at us. Maybe Mazey doesn't play Merry-Go-Round at pitcher this week and we finally win Marshall's de-facto home game.

Don't worry, Marshall is not throwing a weekend starter tomorrow.

Actually, the threw Josh King last year, one of their best pitchers and they threw Shapiro last night, their third best pitcher.

Josh King was not a weekend pitcher last year and Shapiro is a freshman with an 0-2 record and had an ERA over 7 going into last night's game. Their third best pitcher is Parker Danciu...Danciu, Boster and Hammer are their weekend starters. Shapiro starts against non-conference teams like EKU and Morehead State. Your original post said they would start a weekend starter and I said they wouldn't, which they didn't. As much as both teams would like to win, the conference games are all that matter and neither coach is going to burn a top pitcher in a non-conference game.

Really? That's why you sat on the Marshall side at the baseball game? That's why you were posting on HerdNation? Not only are you a Marshall fan, you are an exposed troll and a fool.

Or maybe I never went to Marshall, never followed Marshall, could care less about Marshall as an athletic program, but have a son on the baseball team. Maybe I graduated from another school and that's who I'm a fan of but follow the baseball team because of that son. I guess that would explain why I sat on the Marshall side. I called out a post that was wrong...I guess that makes me a troll.

Nope, you pretended to be a WVU fan and called a bunch of our fans morons. That makes you a troll.

Just curious, is your son from in state or out of state? I will say this, and I've said it before; Marshall has a good baseball team. I'm especially impressed they are able to put together a team as good as they are with a lack of facilities.

I did not pretend to be a WVU fan...I am not a WVU fan but I don't dislike WVU either...same as I feel about Marshall. WVU has a very strong athletic program and what they accomplish in basketball and football is impressive. I am really not a troll, I just don't agree when someone lumps a whole group of people together and makes generalizations about them. Some of my closest friends are WVU fans and I think they're great people. But every school has moron fans as well and WVU is certainly no different.

My son is in state. And their team is not bad, they have a lot of experience. They need more consistency from their bullpen. I think WVU has a lot of talent and they're young, so they have a bright future. Marshall will lose a lot of their talent next year so this year is their best shot to make the conference tournament.
