They feel like they deserve to be in the NCAA Tournament.
Played like it tonight. Were down 0-5.

Randy Mazey took a gamble with Jackson Wolf not pitching
He beat Texas a week ago and didn't even throw his best stuff. Might be able to do it again.

Whatever happens Randy Mazey did one hell of a job.
The fact that this team feels like it belongs in the NCAA Tournament says that.

Due to budget cuts, Iowa State athletic director Bruce Van De Velde announced the end of the baseball program on April 2, 2001.

Iowa State, like many colleges, dropped baseball after the passage of Title IX due to scholarship restrictions in men's sports. Since there has to be rough parity between scholarships in men's and women's sports, and football takes up a lot of scholarships, many men's sports had to be eliminated.

Saw that Robert Morris dropped their hockey programs. Crazy considering there are ALOT of quality athletes in that Pitt area.

I have always felt football should be exempt from Title IX count since there is no equal on the women's side.

Women's sports shouldn't be propped up at the expense of men's sports getting cut....which is part of the legacy of Title IX.

Colorado dropped theirs very early after Title IX.
Iowa State held on but they were beyond horrible. Pretty much what you see now with the Kansas schools. But K State is trying to get off the mat. Plus Kansas has the name brand and actually has a decent ballpark.

Few Power Conference Schools who don't have a baseball program.
Off the top of my head there is Wisconsin, Colorado and Iowa State. Could be 1-2 more. Syracuse?

Looks like the back to back is hurting Tx Tech.

WVU needs to beat Oklahoma State.

Luckily they won't have to deal with this anymore when they move the Tournament out of OKC. Playing baseball in the A/C without the threat of rain in 2022

Throwing and Pitching are two different things.

There are some arms on that team. You get Pitching you win. But pitching depth is important.
Not throwing depth.

Watch the development of the pitchers. Guy that started the elimination game has violent stuff

Has like 20 wild pitches. One thing you learn about baseball. If the catcher can't see the stuff the pitchers can't...

A position that WVU needs.
A lot of throwers become pitchers because of the ability for a catcher to frame pitches.

Look at Texas. Their starting catcher went out in 2019. They sucked. Lost too many close games
Bring in a son of a major leaguer. That old starting catcher is there to but as a backup.
Those catchers help developed arms for Texas.

There is pitching talent there to win.
