Volleyball Signs Hadzisehovic
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (May 15, 2015) – West Virginia University volleyball coach Reed Sunahara continues to bolster his roster, as right side Dzeni Hadzisehovic has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Mountaineers in the fall of 2015.
“I’m excited to welcome Dzeni to the Mountaineer family” said Sunahara. “Dzeni brings size and physicality to help us compete in the Big 12. With playing experience at different collegiate and national levels, I think she’s be a great addition to our squad.”
A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Hadzisehovic arrives in Morgantown after competing at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she led the Cardinals with 3.52 kills per set for a total of 204 on the season. She ranked third on the team in blocks with 0.69 per set and was second with an attacking percentage of .339. Hadzisehovic posted a season-best 22 kills on two occasions, and registered a season-high 10 blocks against Arizona Western. She finished the season ranked second in the Scenic Western Athletic Conference (SWAC) in hitting percentage and third in kills per set, earning Second Team All-SWAC honors.
Prior to her time in Idaho Hadzisehovic spent the 2013 season at Western Wyoming Community College. She hit .257 for the Mustangs with 1.99 kills per set in 21 matches, and averaged 2.45 kills per set and hit .353 in league action. Hadzisehovic garnered 3024 Region IX All-Tournament Team honors
In her native Serbia, Hadzisehovic attended The First Private School for Catering and Tourism and competed for Red Star, Postar 064, Vizura Belgrade, Jedinstvo Stara Pazova and Radnicki Jugopetrol. In 2011, she helped Jedinstvo to a third-place finish in the First Serbia National League after helping the National Team of Serbia to top-three finishes at European Tournaments in 2010.
As she has completed her junior college career, Hadzisehovic is expected to be eligible immediately to compete immediately with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
