MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (August 19, 2017) – Fresh off the program’s first-ever trip to the NCAA College Cup, an exciting promotional slate is scheduled for the top-ranked West Virginia University women’s soccer team’s return to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium this fall.
“Mountaineer Nation provides us with such a great advantage every time we play at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium,” WVU coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. “The entire team is ready for another exciting season in Morgantown.”
The Mountaineers open their 2017 home season against No. 11 Virginia on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m., and it is the first of three Dollar Days planned for the year. All tickets, popcorn, small sodas, nachos, mini pepperoni rolls and candy bars will be available for $1 each. Additionally, it’s Poster Night, and all fans in attendance will receive a free Mountaineer schedule poster.
Dollar Day promotions also are scheduled for the Oklahoma match on Sunday, Oct. 8, and the Mountaineers’ match against TCU on Sunday, Oct. 22. Only $1 tickets will be available on Oct. 8.
For the third straight year, the Mountaineers will meet with fans and sign autographs following four Sunday matches: Duquesne on Aug. 27, Richmond on Sept. 10, Oklahoma on Oct. 8 and TCU on Oct. 22.
The Mountaineers will host the first-ever Dog Day at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Aug. 27. Fans wishing to bring their dog to the stadium must bring a completed attendance waiver with them. Dog Day attendance waivers can be found at WVUsports.com.
Camper Reunion Day is set for the Mountaineers’ match against Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. Free admission will be given to those who wear their 2017 camp t-shirt. Additionally, NCAA College Cup rings will be given to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. It’s also a Gold Rush, and fans are encouraged to wear gold in support of the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers will face Wright State in a double-header on Monday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. The match is the second of the day in a double-header with the WVU men’s soccer team. Fans can purchase one ticket for $5 for admittance into both matches.
WVU Faculty/Staff night is scheduled for the 7 p.m. Duke match on Friday, Sept. 8, with free admission given to any WVU faculty and staff members who show their WVU employee ID. Youth Soccer Day will follow two days later, and all fans who wear a youth soccer jersey will earn free admittance to the team’s 1 p.m. match against Richmond on Sept. 10. A free postgame clinic will follow the match.
Soctoberfest is back again this season and will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 6, when the Mountaineers face Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. Specialty German food and beverage options will be available at the concession stands.
The Mountaineers’ annual Pink Match for breast cancer awareness is set for WVU’s contest against Oklahoma on Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. All fans are encouraged to wear pink that day, and the team will celebrate its annual fundraising efforts for the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at halftime. The match will air regionally on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.
All youth fans will receive a free Trick or Treat bag when WVU kicks against Iowa State on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. The following week, the first 150 fans will receive a free long-sleeve t-shirt on Thursday, Oct. 19, when the Mountaineers face Texas Tech at 5 p.m., in a nationally televised match on ESPNU.
The Mountaineers close their home regular-season slate against TCU on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. It’s Senior Day, and WVU will celebrate the careers of Michaela Abam, Heather Kaleiohi, Alli Magaletta, Amandine Pierre-Louis and Carla Portillo prior to kickoff. Additionally, the Mountaineer Kids Club will hold a carnival-themed celebration before the match with a pillowcase giveaway. Additionally, free admission will be given to youths who bring a completed Musket coloring sheet to the stadium gate.
