MY boy: Nick Griffin.....I have always lliked that guy....injury killed him....I still say he could go down as greatest RB at MSU ever.....I have receded my feelings on that here recently after watching, reading and seeing pictures of Josh Robinson.....Ill tell you what guys, our core of RBs look like bodybuilders.....all of them....

Off MVP: Russell......close pick to be my boy, but the guy is a pure passer, and is in his 4th year under Mullen. Dude is going to put up stats that will break records. It wont be hard to break passing records at MSU, but Russell will shine IMO.

Def MVP: Josh Boyd.......One thing that sticks out to me last year, is that Fletcher Cox did not become the beast he is until mid season. I remember reading an interview on him and someone asking what he had done differently 'lately'...he said nothing more than watching more film on his upcoming opponent and learning tendencies....that simple....I think Boyd wants that 1st round money and limelight that Cox got. He has his head on this year. All or nothing. He has been quiet all spring and summer. He is focused. I think JBanks may get the overhyped bug. Nickoe's gonna be good, but he will have to get the rust off him.

Off Breakout: Josh Robinson.....I still can't get over his recruitment....flew under the radar with all that Louisiana talent....dude is so damn fast and can cut on a dime, and back to what I said earlier about our RBs, his body is pure muscle.....he is a gym rat....

Def Breakout: Darious Slay/Deontae Skinner......as stated above, Im not sure if these guys qualify as 'breakouts'.....but i guess i put them in the category because they are not getting the most attention of their position (Lawrence LB, Broomfield and Banks in the secondary).....Skinner is one big dude who can move and and Slay is fast and has great eyes...and is getting overshadowed by the all the other guys bringing the pipe in the secondary.....One of these 2 guys could easily be Def MVP

Frosh of Year: Josh Robinson......he could very well be the back who receives the most touches by the end of the year.....and he is only a RFr....

Wooly thread of the year......now that I have thought about it entirely, our Def could be something really, really special....

Lawrence had what, 120? Im saying Skinner goes from 69 to around 110.....so yea dumbass, I would say doubling your tackles is breaking out this year. If you dont think so then maybe You dont know a breakout year. ****, this is a dumb argument. Would you not agree that if Skinner goes from 5th with 69 to 2nd with 110 its not a break out? "Ya Boy": Nickoe Whitley - Been my boy since his freshman year, I love the way he hits and makes great plays when the ball is in the air. Offensive MVP: Tyler Russell - His time, he should put up big numbers. Defensive MVP: Cam Lawrence - Makes all of the defensive calls, gets everyone in the right position and leads the team in tackles. Offensive Breakout Player:

Boy": Tyler Russell, I usually don't go with the QB but I think if he can stay healthy this will be an amazing year for Tyler. He took his time and developed and now he has the receiving corps to do some good stuff. Let's just hope the O-line can give him a few seconds to throw and keep him alive all year.
 Offensive MVP: LaDarius Perkins, I know it's odd to pick someone other than "Ya Boy" but I think Perk is going to have a monster year. Defensive
MVP: Johnathan Banks, monster year for Banks as he plays his way into a high NFL Draft pick. Offensive Breakout Player: Joe Morrow, I think he is going to get a lot of playing time because he is the size Dan wants. He doesn't throw young guys in the fire often but this is the exception. Defensive Breakout Player: Denico Autry, at least he better be because if not it's going to be a long year. Freshman of the Year: Joe Morrow, gets more playing time than any other Freshman in Dan's tenure.

 Offensive MVP: Tyler Russell - We lean on him hard this year and he finally comes into his own. Ready to see him perform.
 Defensive MVP: Our bell-cow Jon Banks. If we had a team full of Jon Banks', we'd be contenders every year. Great player and great ambassador for us.
 Offensive Breakout Player: Nick Griffin. Proves to be a dependable between the tackles type to compliment Perkins.
 Defensive Breakout Player: Denico Autry. Ready to see him become an every down end. Ready to see the hype. Also hope Deonte Skinner continues his streak.
 Freshman of the Year: Too close to call... I have a 3-way tie. Josh Robinson/Joe Morrow/Benardrick McKinney. I think all three will be significant players this year.
