Ya Boy 2012: Baseball Edition

As a refresher, "ya boy" in the PTI dialect, is basically your favorite player on the team. You will be open to ridicule if your boy flops and entitled to tout said player as "ya boy" when he performs well this season. We could call it "Your Favorite Player" but that is just boring. As a bonus we will also do everyone's selections for Offensive MVP, Offensive Breakout Player, Ace, Breakout Pitcher, and Rookie (Freshman) of the Year.

Ya Boy: Caleb Reed
Offensive MVP: CT Bradford - Leading returner of BA, OBP, BBs, and runs
Offensive Breakout Player: Hunter Renfroe
Ace: Nick Routt
Rookie: Brandon Woodruff

but that looks more copy and paste than anything. I really want to see how far his range goes with different posters now.

I like so many of our players.

Ya boy: Caleb Reed- attacks the strike zone and I love the occasional sidearm/submarine pitch mixed in there.

Offensive breakout: Adam Frazier- not from a power standpoint, but from an average standpoint. I expect him to hit at least .300 and I think he will hit a lot of doubles for us. I'd like to see him hit behind CT and in front of Rea or Woodruff. He is going to see some pitches to hit.

Ace: I think it's Reed again. Ace to me means the top pitcher on the staff. If you're talking best starting pitcher, I'll go with Stratton.

Rookie: Brandon Woodruff. He has a chance to be a special player for us- and I don't throw that around very often. How will he adjust from 1A baseball to SEC? That's my biggest question about him- but the tools are there. I expect him out of the bullpen, but I think he will be a starting pitcher for us in time and could be a legit dual position starting pitcher- which is rare.
