Good news. I can't really find any rankings, I guess they don't rank the guys this far out. Offer sheet looks good, hope we keep him. I'd love love love love to have a dual threat QB in college. So much more dangerous in college than the pros.
If OC at UK, not at all. Personally, I don't see Gran or Hinshaw voluntarily going anywhere for three years. I think they think they have something to prove & that's at least three seasons of it. Then, I'd think it would be Gran getting HC job & Darin moving up, JMO.'18 is a long way off. If UK has success in '16 and '17 lead recruiter Hinshaw likely gets an OC or HC job. What effect would that have?
This is only partially true and is misleading. The real story of decommitments is that the vast majority of commitments do stay with the school they originally committed to. It is also true that about as many kids commitment is not honored by the school as those that decommit. Here is a old but pretty good article on the subject. It brings some interesting numbers to the discussion.I wouldn't call it negativity when we flip players, too. Regardless of team, commitment doesn't mean very much

So now your using literacy skills and an Olympic medal as justification to be condescending? Ok then. You said no one cares about my posting and that I'm stupid, yet you replied with an extremely punctual 4 paragraph post directed toward me? Alrighty.
Back to the point. UK is making a ton of progress on the recruiting trail and the coaching staff is much improved. I am excited to see various trends all going our favor and stoked for the coming season. Decommits happen. But UK sure is getting a lot more talented commits today than in recent classes I can recall. They just need to keep this trend going from here on out.

Pookie ,was a great QB ,When you think of athletic quarterbacks it's hard to come up with any names. Shane Boyd was pretty good but he wasn't really a true duel threat IMO. Randall Cobb as a part time QB that started a few games. Andre Woodson ran the ball a little bit but he really wasn't a DT either. I guess you could throw in Pokie Jones too, but I would have to say Derrick Ramsey would be the last really talented true duel threat QB that we have had here.
I want a great team. Standout players come and go. I want a stand out team.Pookie ,was a great QB ,
Once again, that's only if you let your negativity ignore the facts. According to Sports Illustrated 88% of blue chip players stayed with their commitments.I wouldn't call it negativity when we flip players, too. Regardless of team, commitment doesn't mean very much
I recall the days players didn't flip cause their other options were Middle Tennessee State and Bubblegum Tech.Is our staff doing another great scouting job or what. Kills me to see this knowing that at the end of the day there is a chance this young man could flip. That is the way a lot of fans feel. But that is also the nature of Football recruiting.
I guess you thought my post needed repeating. LOLOnce again, that's only if you let your negativity ignore the facts. According to Sports Illustrated 88% of blue chip players stayed with their commitments.
Now if your argument is that's for everybody else besides UK because we're obviously cursed . . . I might go along with that!
According to a Sports Illustrated examination of football recruits, “Of the 500 players ranked in the Rivals100 for the classes of 2007 through 2011, 73 (14.6 percent) de-committed at some point during their recruitment. Of those, 62 (12.4 percent) ultimately signed with a school other than the one to which they originally committed.”
My bad Levi . . . lazy scrolling. That's how I got though 2 years of college BTW. I'm taking credit for our likes too!I guess you thought my post needed repeating. LOL

Pulley was a decent athlete. Too bad it ended the way it did with him.
Curtis Pulley and Shane Boyd were two exceptionally gifted athletes. I think people around forget just how bad UK was when Boyd played QB. That was when things were really bad because of probation. He had zero weapons and zero offensive line. He actually played in the NFL about the same number of years as Couch.
12% switching fits with my mental impression of frequency without hard data like this."Of the 500 players ranked in the Rivals100 for the classes of 2007 through 2011, 73 (14.6 percent) decomitted at some point during their recruitment. But I'd bet if you plot days from commitment date to national signing day on X axis & percent switching on Y, I'd think the percent increases noticeably the more days that is. E.g., those committing 500 days prior to NSD may be 70-75% sticking where those in the last week may be 99%. 70% is still a high number.
Boyd was shifty with a cannon arm. But he wasnt overly fast, and he had zero accuracy/touch.
Pulley was a fantastic athlete. Wouldve really been great here had he not blown it.
Agree. I don't remember Shane Boyd as an exceptional athlete (I know he played baseball too) and it's silly to make even a loose comparison to his pro career with Couch's. I'm not sure if Boyd got many if any meaningful minutes in the NFL.
Pulley situation was unfortunate. Really wanted to see what he could do.
NO. Williams is a much better passer. Will this or give us the type of threat Louisville has with Lamar Jackson?
Maybe, but if Jackson cleans up his accuracy a little bit he will not have to rely on his legs as much, Jackson has a serious scary canon of an arm, but that was partly his weakness too, he overthrew a lot of his receivers. I hate UofL but I envy their ability to destroy us with a guy like Jackson. Holding excan find a guy like that who can be more balanced and less one dimensional, hope Williams can be that guy.NO. Williams is a much better passer.
J-low could scramble better than Woodson. When you think of athletic quarterbacks it's hard to come up with any names. Shane Boyd was pretty good but he wasn't really a true duel threat IMO. these guys where OVC qb playing in the SEC, sorry but the truthDerrick Ramsey wasn't a QB. Could hardly throw the ball. Great athlete & runner.
Antonio O'Ferrall? Billy Jack Haskins?
Loved his film! Wow! Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of his receivers too; they seemed to have a lot of chemistry. Of course he might not even see them for 2 years. Very excited about his commit! I hope it sticks!!
Regarding the thread direction...have to mention Matt roark. Not overly athletic and hardly ever threw the ball ... but UNDEFEATED as a starter. Broke longest losing streak (at the time) too. Can't argue with those results! !
Agree. How many SEC coaches have lost their jobs after losing to us (not saying because of losing to us in every case, but they lost their jobs nonetheless).Taking nothing away from Matt's heroic effort but this is a classic example of what happens to a team when they come into a game over-confident and ill prepared. Those are the kinds of games that get coaches fired.

I can guess these: Nutt (Arkansas), Spurrier (USC), Dooley (Tennessee), Pinker (Missouri). Others? DiNardo (LSU)?
