I think it's a good article. It's generally positive. The point he makes about the schedule is probably true too. I don't really think it's a jab.

Its hard to argue with any of the points he makes. The comments on expectations, the schedule, etc all seem reasonable to me. We can change some of that Saturday with a win.

I take the schedule jabs as compliments...

...Only about once every 25 years is MSU presented with a schedule that allows the team to gain a head of steam heading into mid-season, & build excitment among both the players & the fanbase. This is one of those years. Whoever created the 2012 MSU schedule deserves a 500% raise.

Other than the OOC games, our schedule is pretty much written in stone by the SEC ... that's 67% of the games we play. And yes, those games are relatively easy. It just so happens that we get Kentucky every year (normally not very good in FB), Tennessee this year (normally difficult, but down for the past 3 or 4 years), and several of our West opponents are way down this year ... Auburn and Arkansas seem to be almost non-existent, and LSU is not as unbeatable as normal. And then there's the Bears, who have been down for a number of years now. Alabama is the only one that seems to be as good as they usually are, and Texas A&M is somewhat of an unknown.

I will tip my hat to the first of these SOB's who gave us credit for playing one of the hardest schedules in the nation the few years prior to 2012.
