kimdechee and gross are in the backfield on almost every play. Unfortunately OM looks pretty good. I admit I was wrong about their coaching staff

Their defensive line is insane. We will be lucky to surpass 200 yards if offense with our 2-star offensive line.

Bama's OL is less than impressive. And they lost their center. ..........................................

They're not mize level or anything, but not impressive at all.

The Bears entire defense is scary good at the moment. Have to wonder if they'll be able to keep it up for the whole game. I keep waiting for Alabama to bust loose, but it hasn't happened yet and doesn't look like it's going to any time soon. McCarron's passes have been off the mark a lot ... either that, or the receivers aren't running the right routes.

Alabama's lackluster early season games seems to be the norm rather than an anomaly. If they win by just a little they won't be #1 on Monday.

I agree Bama's O-line is not nearly what we are used to but its still a decent line, a lot better than ours. Dave Womack has done a good job drawing up pressure and the players have executed well. as much as i hate it, and i mean i really 17'n hate it, OM is a good team and you have to give credit where credit is due. There is a vast difference between the teams that have played today and us, I just don't feel like we utilize the talent we have. and we do have talent.

Amidst all this fawning has anyone noticed the vaunted Ole Miss offense has a goose egg.

Yes. Their biggest play was the first one ... tipped pass reception. That probably accounts for close to half their offensive yardage.

I believe Wallace gave Alabama bulletin board material when he said they could score on Alabama.

Both coaching staffs made mistakes in that game. UM should've kicked FG's at every opportunity, and Bama shouldn't have waited until the 3rd quarter to run power plays. When the other side is lighter and faster, you run right at them.

OM defense is definitely improved, but keep in mind that their best performance defensively of the entire year last year was inexplicably against Bama.

Ole Miss D gameplan is to slant and attack the gaps with quick d linemen. When you stop that...lights out. We will try to spread them and run our 190lbs back on them instead of running with heavy/jumbo personnel.

Their defense is better than I thought. Still

Can't figure out who is really in that Dave Wommack suit. When they hired him I was happy, bad call by me.

Bo "John Fourcade" Wallace....giving opponents bulletin board material, then getting shut down (all except for when Dick Pace helped his Rebel buddies win the 1981 Egg Bowl).

I think it's more that Mississippi's offense has been very over-rated because it's gone up against some really terrible defenses. Vandy is by far the best defense they saw before yesterday, and Vandy's defense is mediocre at best.

My biggest regret this game is that Alabama didn't beat Ole Miss by a bigger margin, so don't get me wrong here:

Is is really so bad that a quarterback publicly communicates the level of confidence Wallace did in his teammates and receivers? And that Freeze seemed to believer in them that much too?

Would it really matter if they had lost 9-25?

This is what I saw, too. They also tend to overpursue, and that worked for them the first half because it resulted in several key tackles for loss, but when fatigue set in the second half, it tended to result in Alabama imposing their will much more (especially in the run game). A good team that can use misdirection and very fast playaction plays (on first down) would give them fits. I notice they love to bring the guy covering a slot or inside receiver to run blitz. It works if they know you are going to run because for them, it's an extra layer of containment. However, exploit that matchup a few times, they might start thinking twice about it. If I were gameplanning, that'd be a matchup I focused heavily on.

Auburn is a team that will use misdirection. I think auburn gives them fits. Enough to beat em? Who knows...
