A few things. First, it’s not smart to tell someone to PM you and meet up in a manner like that. You don’t know him, for all you know that guy will end you in 3 seconds. So he’s not acting like the tough guy here sir. Crap like that gets people’s *** handed to them quickly. You’re fairly old right? For example I’m in my prime, fought for 10 years and carry/ have takedown’s in my truck the works. I can defend myself just fine, but I wouldn’t even think to tell a stranger to PM and meet up like that. You need to sit down and chill out. That’s for your own good. Hot heads get bit all the time, usually happens in road rage incidents.
Second, people are angry they don’t hate Pope. I would never hate Pope. He’s got to go, he didn’t win that game at all, a lucky incident happened to one of the worst SEC teams there is and this isn’t how Kentucky operates. We are a blue blood, we need to hold to standards or you will lose them.
Some people believe the longer we hold on to pope the worse it is for this program, so naturally they might at this point believe losses to get him out quicker are better. Mark is about to begin the gaslighting campaign to lower standards here and pretend wins like this are the measuring stick. Listen to his post game, he’s already doing it. So that’s a bad position to be in, he’s average on his best day and we must cut ties.
In the grand scheme, which is UK wins banners and plays in final fours, these wins mean nothing. He cannot recruit, what part of that are people not understanding? You retain him you lose the program. So let’s look big picture here and demand changes, regardless of these meaningless wins. I’m happy for Mark to breath a little but end of the day he has to go regardless. Kentucky’s coaches must make elite 8’s or better most years. If not they better be hitting it close. He cannot do that. So who cares the method or how? Who cares if some hold to that standard? Who cares what they think of mark? This is sinking fast and we need him out. That’s all that matters.
