Yet again, Wes Rea wastes a RBI opportunity. He needs to sit. Forever.

He has been a disappointment but if that shot down the left field line had been 2 inches over, we would be having a different conversation.

he might could have an nfl career (purely speculation based on his talent coming out of hs), but pro ball is NOT in his future unless things turn a complete 360 then turn an additional 180.

The first thing Rea needs to do this summer is back off the plate. I understand the this is my plate mentality. When your power comes from extending your arms it's foolish to crowd the plate. Throw in the fact he can't hit a curve and has no protection around him and you end up with this years results.

He's just waiting on the new baseballs.

Curves less flies further.

Maybe he should go talk to Mullen after our short postseason

Yeah and the bomb he hit in the Super at Virginia was pretty big too, not to mention the scoop on the bad throw by Holder to save that game and send us to Omaha.

Don't forget, this team will be a two seed somewhere and the regionals are all that matters now. If Rea gets hot, which he might, we will be loving him then.

the SEC tournament means nothing. I hope we win one and then come home to rest some arms.

If Rea continues his choke-a-thon into this post season he`ll simply be remembered as a big ole boy that played for us and had a great post season run in 2013 but turned out to be a one trick pony. ALL players (from t-ball on up) have had multiple wasted RBI opportunities but the ones who rise to the occasion when the bright lights come on are the ones people remember. Rea`s yet to be determined legacy is his to determine in the next few weeks.

Perhaps you would care to share with us all the wonderful ways you have made our University a better place this year.

Rea catches the heat because he was suppose to be our leader this year

Not defending Rea, but what player hasn't wasted multiple RBI opportunities?

Last year he almost hit .300 and had a slugging % of .459 and this year he's hitting .250 and slugging % is down a 100 points. While I'm disappointed with Rea, I'm just as equally as disappointed with Detz. If both of these guys have decent years, then we are hosting instead of talking about being a 2 seed.
