Yet another endgame scenario

Got a text from a former roomie at MSU. Asked if he heard of something like this perhaps going down

a) MSU loses out
b) Byrne orders Croom to make significant changes to the staff
c)Croom, wanting to avoid a big showdown and save face for Woody and others on staff , falls on the sword
d) Croom accepts a severance package (no where near buy out) and goes back to NFL

Now this would be a near-perfect scenario for and very low on the plausibility scale.

But, if one thinks about it: Croom is a man of alot of integrity
Croom prolly would hate the off season swirl of speculation and storm
Croom has openly stated he's not going to see Woody or his guys sent packing

So perhaps its more believable that at first blush

I've said that this would be the best case scenario since I've wanted him gone. A) it would save money B) we would avoid the media backlash.

I don't think it's too far outside the realm of possibility, but I would give him a greater chance of being fired.

Firing him might allow him, Croom, to save some face too. It'd be a nightmare in PR, financially, and perhaps even for Croom's future in coaching.

I hope Croom is making some calls to the NFL or NCAA on getting some type of position in case the likely scenario plays out.

I don't wish the man bad for the future but I don't wish him @ MSU either

I've also thought this is a possibility. As much as we bash Croom, I still think he is a "stand up guy" as a person. Coupled with the rumor he's nearly quit twice and the fact the writing is on the wall, I could see that happening. We could all save face.

Either way they're looking for jobs this December. Step C. means EVERYBODY is out of a job, instead of 1-2 assistants.

If Croom leaves, we won't be doing it the right way. Don't forget the Hiroshima-type wreckage Mississippi State was when Croom first got here. Todd Blackledge sez we need to stick with Croom at least another 8-9 years, because he's doing it the right way.

Doing it the right way includes:
-Not recruiting a serious QB the first five years you're here.
-Having the five most important players thinking it's more important to hizzlle fo shizzle da gangsta punk ***** shooting at drug dealers driving Budweiser cars, instead of helping lead this team and building momentum from last season.
-Pop-warner level special teams
-winning 3 games a year because, after all, the SEC needs a consistent loser for homecomings and to guarantee 10-11 teams can make a bowl.

Eat ****, Todd Blackledge. You sucked as a QB, and you suck as an announcer.
