But that is just a two game deal, sort of like some one hitting six homers in a game. It is just a fluke.
Just a two game deal (record) that would require somebody to throw 3 no hitters in 3 consecutive starts in order to break. No matter what you want to say about it, it is the most unbreakable record in sport.
That anybody ever achieved the feat of consecutive no hitters is not simply a fluke. It took some damn good pitching for 18 straight innings to pull that off. A no hitter by itself is not merely a fluke. Hitting for the cycle? That is often an example of a fluke because the difference between a double becoming a triple is often a matter of luck, as is a ball that just barely makes it over the fence for a home run which otherwise could have bounced off the wall and held a runner at first base in some circumstances. Anybody ever hit for the cycle in consecutive games?
That's the great thing about baseball. A small number of things can add up quickly and become a huge deal, such as when Nolan Ryan threw his 6th or 7th no hitter the same night Ricky Henderson became the all time steals leader. Guess which story was bigger. Henderson still butt-hurt over it.
