You know, at this point I really couldn't care less where Newton goes.

I can't really blame the guy for wanting to go to Auburn. Who are we to get mad at this guy for making a decision that's best for him - whether it's system-related or it's *ahem* financially lucrative for his family.

I only ask 1 thing: When we play Auburn, I want someone in charge of the jumbotron to find the footage of Cam Newton ringing a cowbell in the stands, and I want them to show it over and over again during the game. To me, there's something funny about the QB of the school who led the charge to ban cowbells ringing one in the stands.

!*!$ off!

That is the attitude that keeps us in the cellar.

!*!$ Auburn and everything about them. This is competition and AU and OM are the biggest competitors for recruits.

The attitude that my life doesn't revolve around the decisions of a 20 year old? Damn me!

Some people are really taking this a little too personally.

It revolves around it some or you would not be posting here regarding this particular 20 year old.

Your attitude that "I can't really blame him for wanting to go to AU" is what I am referring to. It is a defeatist attitude.

It SHOULD piss you off when we lose a coveted recruit!

You're so positive, you posted twice. Surely Cam will see you positivity and change his mind...

Holy **** balls, man.

First off, there's a difference in mentioning something on a message board and having the decision of an egocentric, prima donna athlete ruin your day.
And perhaps if you can't see that difference, then it's time to take a break from MSU athletics or sports in general.

Secondly, it isn't defeatist to realize that school that I attended, graduated from, and subsequently love is not the place for everyone. The guy wants to go to Auburn for whatever reason, that's his prerogative.

And lastly, no it doesn't piss me off. I want a 5 star QB as much as the next guy. But in the long run, it just may not have been the best decision for him. And regardless of how much you, I or anyone else on this message board want him to come here - in the end, it just doesn't matter. I mean, if you made every decision in your life based on what people on a message board wanted, you would've offed yourself by now. Which, judging by your reaction to this news, you may not be for from now...
