You know, I'm just amazed by all of this

Regardless of all the big rumors and the claims of it being a done deal, every State fan should have still been very hesitant to buy into it. I mean, we are MSU. I got slightly excited but still wasn't going to believe it until I saw an official anouncement, or even Petersen at a press conference accepting the job.

So people got excited. Now, it's like people are mad at Byrne over this. I'm pretty sure he wasn't the one blabbing on the internet of how it was a done deal, or the deal would be finalized soon. Some people are almost acting like he shouldn't have made a run at Petersen. Have you people lost your minds? We wanted Byrne to make a run at the best plausible candidate. He did. We have a real AD. We went overboard heaping praise on him, but the guy really does have his stuff together, doesn't simply accept our supposed position in the sports world, and won't take no for an answer. I applaud Byrne for making a hard run at Petersen, it would have been a blockbuster hire.

Calm down folks. Petersen was a long shot and we all knew that, or should have. We had to try but if we end up with someone like a Wilson let's not act like it's a major letdown. We will make such an upgrade over what we had that's it not even funny. Plus, let's not forget this, if Byrne wasn't AD we'd still have Croom as head coach.

let's don't rule anyone out based on any kind of statements released whether it's Petersen or anyone else. Hell, Patterson of TCU released a statement way back on Tuesday, I think it was. He may or may not of been a candidate, who knows? Who knows anything for that matter? Our coach could be anybody from Chris Petersen to Tom Dingleberry. We simply have no idea. Sure, today's end was much worse than we hoped but we know nothing. And there's a beauty to that somewhere, we've just got to find patience.

I repeat, Greg Byrne can do no wrong.

(FWIW, I don't think he specifically did anything wrong this time either....I just get a good kick out of the constant ****-licking of Greg Byrne by all posters on this site.)

I'm just glad we are giving it a good try. And I do think we will get a good hire. Not a Saban hire, but a good up and coming coach. I would love to follow Texas Tech formula.
