You know what's silly about recruits flipping?

<div>DOUBLE STANDARDS</div><div>
</div>If a fan has a recruit decommit from his school and either chooses another school or is wafflingmightily, that fan will have lots of negative things to say about him: "He is scared of competition", "He isn't a man of his word", "He lacks integrity", "He lied to our coaches, therefore his is ascoundrel", "If he isn't sure he wants to be at our school, then we don't want people of low character like that", "He's just a puss. 17 him!"<div>
</div><div>BUT.....</div><div>
</div><div>If that same fan wishes a recruit that is currently committed to a different school would flip to choose his (the fan's) favorite team, then the fan is fine with a recruit's change of mind: "He figured out what was the best choice, I applaud him for that", "He finally stood up to those mean coaches at ______ and did what HE wanted to do", "He finally wised up!", "He saw how awesome we are and are going to be and knew where he wanted to call home for the next four years."</div><div>
</div><div>I just think it's funny that the same guys who will throw "flippers" under the bus if they leave their team's commit list will gush over guys who FLIP TO their team from somewhere else.</div>

If something happens that benefits MSU (i.e. a Robert Elliot), I think that's fan-freaking-tastic. When something happens that hurts MSU (i.e. a Patrick Patterson), I think that sucks. Actually, I don't get too worked up over it either way. Neither of my 2 examples have come anywhereclose to living up to the hype. A lot of these current recruits won't either.

but there have been many willing to gut certain MSU commits if they flip to a different school, while they love Perkins who flipped from Auburn and would love to see Morris or others currently committed to other school become a Dog. That's a double standard.<div>
</div><div>I hope we get them all. But that never happens for anyone.</div>
