We’ve wine 100% more games this year than we did last year. Just 8 weeks ago many of you were exclamating how you’d take a 4-“whatever” game season. Now, now that we’ve played Tennessee and Texas down to the wire, yall are calling for the coach, AD, and Presidents job!?!? Get a 17in life. How many of you coach football….at the college level? What do y’all not understand? This will take longer than 1-2 years. We have to keep a coach for continuity to combat NIL if we expect to have a chance. Y’all just need to shut the 17 up and let the process play out. This is not an instantaneous thing

I don’t expect to instantaneously compete for a national title. But I do instantaneously expect an SEC HC to know how to manage play calling and time management with the game on the line. Lebby arguably lost three winnable games due to what should be staple football knowledge at this level.

I've said this 100 times it seems like, but I just don't think it takes a competent head coach long at all to turn things around. It seems like we take two steps forward, then four steps back. Mullen took a 4 win team and nearly beat LSU to go to a bowl in his first year. In year two he won 9 and the Gator Bowl, and that was with a terrible QB situation. All Lebby has managed to do in year two is piss away a couple of very winnable conference games, oh and get damn lucky against Arizona State.

He shouldn't get credit for doubling the wins, he got blown out by a JC team at home last season, any other coach in the CFB would have won that game, so he gets credit for improving one win from 2024 to 2025.

You truly haven't seen the landscape of college football the past few years. Continuity has nothing to do with anything these days. **** the ASU team we lost to last year had massive roster turnover, and broke us. You know what's going on better than the rest of us mortals. The game has changed and having a dip **** former baseball coach as AD at the time has set us back damn near a decade. Now we are trying on the job training for an OC as HC and we are getting what we deserve. A coach that gets cute in the wrong situations and then blows a huge lead at the end of the game. Cry me river for his *** cuz I'm done giving a damn at this point. He has to start winning at the conference level to even think of getting most realistic fans back at a casual level. Hell even vroom could find an acorn every now and again.

What does realistic fans at a casual level even mean? Are you referring to keyboard warriors who don’t contribute to the program or attend games? Mullen’s time management was horrible and last I checked, he was OC and HC. This is Lebby’s true first season as a coach. He’s made serious mistakes, but the program has improved. We live in an age of gratification and comparisons. Next year will be his benchmark.

But you still must be able to make high school level decisions during the game. Last night, don’t go for it on 4th down in your own territory when you are ahead, work the clock late in the game, and don’t kick the ball to the punt returner at the end of the game. Kick it across the field, kick it out of bounds, kick it anywhere but where we kicked it. Yes, we are better but it’s never going to be good enough based on the decision making we have seen these last few weeks. Same dumb stuff week after week.

If we’re going to pretend that last year never happened, then what is your baseline for claiming that the program has improved? I mean, I guess it’s better than the 1-year Arnett trainwreck that everyone from our President on down admitted was one giant mistake, but it’s certainly not improved compared to any of our other post-Croom regimes.

I don’t fault a guy for making mistakes, but I do take issue with guys that don’t learn from them, and Lebby isn’t learning. It honestly seems like he’s not even trying because he’s so damn convinced that he’s a smarter play caller than anyone else

Hey there keyboard warrior. If I recall he was 2-10(0-8)last season as a first year head coach. I'm also not beating the drums for Mullen back either. He did his time here and was much more polished from the get go as a HC than Lebby. If we keep it up we might as well change the helmets to MVU(Moral Victory University). Sat in the stands through the Croom error and apathy was there then too.

We didn't play those teams "down to the wire". We had them beat then used the wire to choke ourselves out.

The issue becomes that in today's college football you need an engaged fan base more than ever for the necessary funds to compete. People just lose interest when losing is happening.

You 100% need an engaged fanbase. To acquire that, one needs to encourage a stable program to be engaged in. That starts with the coach and longer than a 2-season timeline

Arnett won an SEC game. So there’s that.

That may be true. If so, it appears that Lebby will need a 24 point lead in the fourth quarter in most games because he makes decisions that comprise his team’s ability to win tight games. If you can’t see or admit that he’s doing stupid stuff to lose games then you’ll just have to be mad at everyone else who does.
