WVU Inc. will inform the new coach what he thinks, what language he can use, what he can believe, and what his political beliefs are. As an institution of higher learning, we demand that our coaches stop forming their own beliefs, opinions, and values and align themselves with The Party. Chairman Gee has spoken.

Gee will be gone in 6 months. You will have to find something else to hate about WVU.

I hear Huggins daughter wrote a letter on Twitter or Facebook one those media things attacking Gordon Gee and telling him he should leave the university because he didn't offer her dad therapy and not fire him.

Gordon gee has run his course at wvu. Things are a mess under his watch. Time to hire a conservative to take over and turn things around. Wvu and morgantown are shitholes compared to any other time in history and he is partly responsible.

She clearly says he should not be fired because he should get rehab for alcohol abuse. Then she claims her father is not an alcoholic.

Well if he's not a drunk why would he need rehab for alcohol addiction.
And she says those bags of cans weren’t all beer cans and they were intended for a longstanding tradition of recycling. I’ve made bad choices of driving intoxicated myself. Like him, I should’ve also known better. It appears he has a problem. And you’re correct, the first step is acknowledging it’s a problem.

Truth is he does recycle cans. But his drink of choice is vodka. Also there was a driver that was supposed to be with him but the guy couldn't make it. So Bob went on his own.

Bad choice.

I think we all hate that it happened. I truly hope he finds peace with it and the help he needs.

I just wonder how long this has been going on. If his daughter wants to blame the Wvu administration, then maybe she should blame them for not telling him to get his a$$ into rehab. She is in denial and probably has been enabling him as well as others in his inner circle. The university allowed him to give the appearance that it was a resignation. Some on social media have stated it was a sham which it might be, but Huggins brought this problem on himself can't blame Gee or Baker for it.

I'm no Gee supporter, but if getting drunk and embarrassing your employers (who pay you rather handsomely) twice in a span of six weeks isn't a firing offense, what is?

If Huggs couldn't stay out of trouble for even two months he's got bigger problems than whether he gets to coach another season of basketball.

His daughter claiming the university should have gotten him help instead of firing leaves out the part where maybe his family should have talked to him about it and gotten him help. He can certainly afford it unless he spent tens of millions of dollars on booze and cigars. The average person with a drinking problem isn't going to be able to afford much more than AA meetings. A guy pulling seven figures for years had other options.

I get defending your dad. I really do. But maybe if she and other family members hadn't looked the other way for decades it wouldn't have come to this.

A friend of mine's wife was a high-level DI tennis player who gave lessons to kids at her country club during the summers. This club was in the Cincy area and Huggs' daughters were among her pupils. She said Huggs was the nicest, most down-to-earth celebrity she'd ever met and that he knew the name of every employee at the club, down to busboys and landscapers. She also said she that every single time she saw him he had a drink or a koozy in one hand. That's Huggs in a nutshell: a good dude with a big problem.

Probably one of the most loyal, devote Mountaineers we will ever see as HC. The only other would be Bill Stewart. The only difference is, Huggins was an elite HC and could’ve coached anywhere. However, both Stewart and Huggins loved the Mountaineers. We were lucky to have both.

Lol, despite their financial troubles, WVU and the city of Morgantown are objectively nicer now than they ever have been in the past. Why do you folks insist on tearing down the university you supposedly support? Oh right political, culture war bs.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Downtown Morgantown is a **** hole lol. And it is because of the liberal policy makers and their terrible ideas.
